I’m not sure what’s in the air, but this past week has been one of the toughest. Today I received the heartbreaking news that my brother, Mayito from Eagle Pass, has passed away. He was one of the very first to believe in me in that area and always welcomed my family and me as his own.
When I graduated, all I wanted was his food, and without hesitation he said, “Let’s do it.” Every time I was in Eagle Pass, he would invite me to stop by his truck or his home to share a meal before a show. He truly made the best brisket hands down. More than that, he was an incredible mentor, a loyal friend, and someone whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impact.
He will be deeply missed. My prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to Cynthia and the entire family during this difficult time. Please keep them in your prayers. 🙏🏼
