Repost• Kelly Donahue Prosthetics and non-movable (and non-sticky!) bloody base layer. Unless absolutely necessary, I save all sticky, liquidity products for final touches on set to keep things clean and actors comfortable.
An alcohol paint base layer for bloody makeups helps ensure continuity and prevent disasters if you don’t have time for touchups between takes. Most of the time, especially in action heavy scenes, you can’t tell the difference, so it also reduces the need to slather your actor in fake blood. And a less sticky actor is a happy actor! Pro tip: A dab of KY Jelly over 2D blood keeps things looking slick and bloody without risking your blood pattern when you need to do multiple takes without any blood shifting.
