On Wednesday, July 9, the DAA and Village of Algonquin will honor Sherry Brewer for 30 years of business at the Victorian Rose Garden B & B. Join us for breakfast from 7:30-9:00 am, followed by the regular Old Town business meeting at Sherry’s place at 9:00 a.m.

It’s been awhile since I posted … but I need to get the word out that The_Algonquin_House will be open for a sneak peak of the renovations during this summer’s summer concerts in Towne Park. We’ll kick off the season with a BBQ during the first one on July 10. But you’re welcome to stop by before, during or after any of the concerts dates from July 10-August 28.

This week, while prepping for my knee surgery, I took the time to decorate for fall... Always love how looks decorated for the seasons/holidays. Will snap some more pictures when I get back home. (And this is one of my favorite rooms renovated in the house. Still need to paint that red dresser though. … but don’t worry, it will still be a bold pop of color!)

Been slowed down on repairs this year due to some issues with my knees. Went ahead and had knee replacement on left knee on 9/4 and had right knee replacement this morning! Hoping to be back to work on in 2025 and open for business no later than 2026.

I haven't posted on in awhile. Threw a last-minute party in July when threw a car show and music/beer tent in the parking lot next door. Good music in my yard is always a reason for a party! Here are the belated photos... And Trader Joes even had a wine with cars on the bottle!

Tomorrow’s parade route…

The Algonquin Founders' Days Parade will take place on Saturday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m. It will start at Eastgate Drive, head west on Algonquin Road, head south on Main Street, and end at Madison Street.

🚗 Road Closures & Detours:
📍Algonquin Rd (IL 62): Eastbound lanes will be closed from Main St to Eastgate Dr at 10:00 a.m. Traffic will be restricted to one lane each way.
📍South Main St (Old IL 31): Closed from Algonquin Rd to Huntington Dr at 10:00 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to IL 31 (Western Bypass).
📍North Harrison St: Access to Algonquin Rd will be limited; vehicles should use North Main St.
📍South Harrison St: Closed between Algonquin Rd and Washington St.

🚫 No Parking: South Harrison St, Madison St, La Fox River Dr, and South Main St.

Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.

If you're at the Founders’ Day car show in downtown Alginquin, stop by The _Algonquin_House. You can hear the music from the back yard and use my restrooms instead of the porta potties! Plus I have way too much food and wine, so need some help eating it up. Plus get a sneak peek of this future event venue.
