MAGIC OF MUSIC
Welcome to the Magic of Music! I am delighted to be here with you today.
I want you to please keep in mind that this is not a research-based presentation. This is simply my story…my life, my accident, the role music played in my recovery and my ongoing journey as a brain injury survivor
To give you a little background: I grew up in New York City and am the oldest of ten children. I attended Stuyvesant High School, the College Of William & Mary, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and the United States Army Command & General Staff College. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Aeronautics, and a Master of Science Degree in Military Science. I served my country and am now a retired major.
A few of the highlights of my Military career include my designation as the Army’s Air Traffic Controller of the Year in 1984 and command of an Armored Cavalry Unit in 1991 during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm while serving in Iraq and Kuwait. I joined the Army in 1981 and that was when I served as an Air Traffic Controller. In 1984, I was designated as Air Traffic Controller of the year.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Rene’ and together we have five children. Four are college graduates and one is a high school junior.
