People ask me all the time about how glamorous life as a wedding planner is… but this is a real snapshot- we’re the ones in the background running out the door to save a snagged veil caught on the brick walkway as our beautiful bride makes her way to her groom.
We’re sweating in 100 degree heat setting up a wedding arch, or lining ceremony chairs in the perfect semicircle. We’re fixing fingerprints in cake icing, running out to meet you with umbrellas when it rains, and making sure your name cards are placed at exactly the right seats. We’re sewing bridesmaids into dresses with popped zippers, and running to our emergency kit to grab bandaids when their shoes rub those awful blisters into their heels. We’re untangling fairy lights (they ALWAYS tangle) and making sure every last detail gets boxed up and home safely at the very end of the night.
Is it glamorous? Not exactly! Is it rewarding, fulfilling, exhausting, amazing, challenging and the best job I could ever ask for? Why yes, yes it is! I love this crazy wedding planner life and all of the amazing couples I’ve been able to meet along the way.
