I have shared before about how much of a relational business this is. Typically there is a year and a half between my first phone call with a couple and their wedding day and you really get to know them during that time. Even better is when you cross paths after the wedding either DJing for one of their friends or family members' weddings or a work event. I got to DJ for Katie and James’ wedding at Rust Manor House a little over two years ago. Their wedding was the sweetest with so much dancing and even a special flyover. The best part for me though was learning that Katie is an event coordinator and since then we have been able to continue working together at all the various work parties. It makes showing up to “work” so easy when you get to know the people you are working with. Katie, you are great at what you do and it has been a pleasure to continue working with you.

A year or so ago I started to think differently about my DJ biz, specifically where I work and who I work with. This business is so relational and that’s what I love about it and so I started thinking about the people I’ve grown to love working with the most…places where I’ve built relationships over the years. is one of those places. I know when I show up and see Alexandra, and their teams it’s gonna be a good night. The same is true of where I got married almost 20 years ago! Getting to work w and the staff is always the best. I started saying man if I could just work here all the time! And wouldnt you know that the vast majority of my weddings I do are in one of these two places!
Will I work at other venues? Yes but first dibs go to these spots and you’ll get a discount too. Cheers to you guys and thanks to making a wedding vendors life so easy and enjoyable.

Friends it’s that time of year…I’m looking for some peeps that would be interested in being trained to DJ or run a photobooth.
For DJing really you just need to be socially aware and like people 🙂
Pay starts at $50 per hr and bumps up to $100+ an hr for weddings.
Photobooth you can get by w tolerating people 🤣 and pay stars at $25 per hour.

About a year ago I went crazy and ordered 60 different backdrops for our Photobooths! I love being able to give clients tons of options and I think this one for a recent holiday party looked great!

Looking to Train the next team of DJ's!

A few years back I took the CliftonStrengths Strength Finder test and it determined that my top 3 are 1. Posotivitiy 2. W.O.O (Winning others over) and 3. Adaptability. Each of these come in handy as a DJ and I would love to find some others out there with similar strengths looking for a great "side hustle".

Practically that means you must be good/ comfortable on a microphone, can read a crowd, and adjust accordingly to what is needed in the moment.
Everything else can be easily taught.
