Had an absolute blast with these amazing students on our Music Trip to the Twin Cities!

Day 1= Science Museum, pizza party, and seeing the musical “Frozen”

Day 2= Minneapolis Institute of Art, Mall of America, and dinner at the Chanhassen to see “Grease”

Day 3= Como Zoo, toured St. Paul Cathedral, Schubert Music Club Museum, chilled out at Rice park, dinner at Buca di Beppo, History Theatre to see “Whoa Nellie”- a Minneapolis original musical

Day 4= loaded the van for home but definitely had to stop at Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store

SDMEA Elementary Festival Choir 2025
16 AHHS 4th-6th graders had the opportunity to practipate in the 16th annual Elementary Festival Choir.

I think it’s safe to say they had a blast!

We had a great day in Canton for the South Dakota Region 1 Honor Band! Congrats to Danica Albaugh-Edgecomb (flute), Katie Patrick (clarinet), Ava Kingma (trumpet), Logan Rodriquez (trombone), Chase Ver Mulm (euphonium), and Josh Driesen (percussion) and a wonderful concert!

We had a great time today at SDMEA Freshmen Festival! These ladies did amazing and were awesome leaders. Super proud of all of their hard work! ❤️

All-State Choir 2024

Oh my goodness! What an amazing day we had! Our students had their final rehearsals today and had a mini performance by the Elementary Honor Choir. It was precious to see and hear potential future All-Staters perform infront of the current ones.

After rehearsal we had three hours to fill before the concert. We went to the ranch and had some snuggle time with the mini donkeys and of the course the big draft horses didn’t want to be left out. Next we had a pizza party and watched a movie while getting ready. Also, some of the students had the rare opportunity to play a 50+ year old Steinway Baby Grand Piano (which is extremely RARE). Once ready the kiddos looked so fancy we just had to have a quick photo session.

Everyone was absolutely WONDERFUL at the concert. Thank you parents for coming and supporting your child and thank you to everyone who continues to support our students and our program. 💙🤍💛🐻💛🤍💙

The 2024 SDHSAA All-State Chorus and Orchestra concert will take place from the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls on Saturday, November 2nd.

Yesterday the All-State Choir delegates and alternates toured 5 different schools in the region. They did such an amazing job and Olivia even got to solo!
Wish us luck tomorrow as we head to Sioux Falls for rehearsals with 1000 other students from across South Dakota. We will perform on Saturday at 7pm along with the All-State Orchestra.

Today we are all at USD working with Dr. David Holdhusen, Director of Choral Activities USD.

Delegates will get to sing in Sioux Falls November 1st-2nd in a choir with over 1,000 students from across South Dakota!

Congratulations to all of our AHHS music seniors! Each one of you are amazing individuals that will head out into the world and help make it a better place. Thank you for all you have done for your school and community. You will hold a special place in our hearts. Good luck on your next adventures.
