We had our first rehearsal of the new season today at our new rehearsal site, the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. We had a great turnout with 37 musicians. Frank and Ron started new pieces including a new arrangement of Peter Gunn by Al Newman. The church is a great place to play and we are grateful that they are accepting us there every Tuesday morning.

Our new rehearsal site is the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church located at 1004 24th Street - Rio Rancho 87124 Phone: 892-6664
Directions: Heading north on NM 528 Turn left onto Southern Blvd and look for the Daniels Funeral Home over a mile up Southern and turn left onto 24th Street and the church sits behind the funeral home. From Golf Course Rd head north to Southern Blvd and turn right onto Southern and head to 24th street at the corner with the Daniels Funeral Home. We will be meeting 10 to 12 noon. There is plenty of parking on the south side of the church where the front door is. The sanctuary is just inside the front door and to the right.
Please place instrument cases on unused chairs and not on any of the tables which have decor on them and are used for church purposes. There are restrooms across from the sanctuary. Share the Care uses the back half of the church and they will be in that area and we should stay in the sanctuary and hallway where the restrooms are. There is also an office with secretary, Jan is the secretary, and this office is also in the same area as the sanctuary.

Visiting today's rehearsal was Alex Goldsmith and his photographer from TV KRQE Channel 13. They filmed the band playing did interviews and were interested in us and our activity. The segment should be broadcast this Sunday, May 8 on the late afternoon and evening news on Channel 13. It was fun.
