1) Old-fashioned
Talk to your girlfriend’s family beforehand to get their blessing. Choose your favorite spot, and wait for a quiet moment. Get down on one knee, tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you, and then ask her to marry you.
2) Holidays
Valentine’s Day is viewed by many as the most romantic day of the year. It is a wonderful day to propose to the woman you love. Take her out for a romantic meal and then present her with a box of chocolates. Remove one piece and replace it with a ring or give her a dozen roses and tie the ring to one of the stems.
3) Modern
Technology is a great tool when proposing to your love. Propose on Twitter or Facebook. Send a casual text message when she least expects it or you could send a romantic Ecard to work.
4) Sleeping
A romantic way to ask for her hand in marriage is to wait until she falls asleep. Slip the ring on her finger and when she wakes up in the morning (she will likely wake you) present her with a glass of champagne and a proposal.
5) Game night
If the two of you enjoy playing games, arrange a game night alone or with some friends. Plan to play scrabble first, and before everyone arrives spell out “Will you Marry Me?” Be ready to present the ring when she says yes.
6) Creative
Plan a scavenger hunt for her and a friend in-the-know. Give clues that get more complicated and have the final clue lead to a place where you are hiding to pop the question. If you want to keep it more simple, leave love notes around the house and have them lead to the next note. The final note should be under the box with the ring inside.
7) Outdoors
Plan a hike in the mountains or a trip to the beach. If you can plan ahead, spell out the words “Will You Marry Me” in stone or in the sand. Place the ring in her hand when she says yes.

Cook or order in a romantic, candlelit dinner for two at home. Serve her a glass of champagne with the diamond ring in the bottom. Give her a foot massage and then place the ring on her toe. Plan a romantic movie night and place the ring at the bottom of the popcorn bowl. When she finds it, propose.
9) Food
Take her to a beautiful romantic restaurant, perhaps a favorite date spot. Arrange with the wait staff ahead of time to bring the ring out with dessert. After dinner, order a sensuous dessert and wait for it to arrive. Pop the question when it is brought to the table.

Some people get very creative with public proposals. Rent a billboard or have it placed on the score board at a ball game. Have the diamond ready to propose when she sees it.
