“I wanted to send a pic of me in my beautiful dress bought last October at your store.
I had no appointment and began shopping early just knowing it would be difficult finding a dress. I am an older bride (over 50), and short (5’3”). Why does this matter? Most dresses are geared toward younger brides, are full of sparkle, flare, tulle, seem half-naked and honestly look best on small frames. I wanted to present a mature, reasonable yet special look and didn’t need all the froufy fan-fare of first wedding dreams. I also have some hang-ups about body image after two children and a lifetime of not drawing attention to myself, I felt defeated when I should be excited about this big event.
I tried on two dresses then saw myself in the third and instantly had tears. It fit and was exactly what I envisioned. The “Cora” by Justin Alexander.
After purchase I made a few alterations: closed the cleavage gap a bit, shortened the straps and had the train cut off to a sweep length. I used the extra material to make a capelet for my shoulders if it was misty or I desired more coverage. Too bad I never wore it as I felt comfortable all day.
The attached photo is just my way of saying “Thank You” for a great selection and lovely store. I hope to inspire other full-figured or mature brides to be creative and shine in whatever they wear! Happily merried on 6-6-2026.
