Green the Scene is back this year on Thursday, September 15 at The Trailhead At Cascade Lofts. The open house style event is a casual evening with drinks, appetizers, Swenson's Food Truck, music, and silent auction.

The restored Mustill Store and butcher shop, now a museum as well as visitors center for Cascade Locks Park, is one of the oldest structures in Akron, dating back to about 1847. Located next to the store is the restored Mustill House where the family lived. Canal boats often tied up in the wide basin just north of Lock 15, to shop or trade at this market.

Fast forward to 2022.... Our couples use this area to capture beautiful wedding day pictures.

The Trailhead Story

The Trailhead, located on the edge of the Towpath Trail, Cascade Locks Park and Downtown Akron, combines natural charm, rustic elegance and a locally-focused spirit – all personally crafted for you and your unique event.

Our event space puts an emphasis on flexibility and has a rustic, elegant palette featuring celebrated Akron artists. The space uses re-purposed natural wood, and was designed with the importance of energy and efficiency in mind. It’s a short walk to our National Parks, Cascade Locks Park and the Mustill Store Museum, perfect for capturing timeless photographs.

Built in 1904 as Swinehart Tire & Rubber, and beautifully renovated in 2015, the building also includes 24 loft apartments and a brewery. This thoughtfully sustainable large event space glows with natural light and a love of local. It features a large dance-floor, an artistically modern bar, an outdoor garden courtyard and spacious greenery.

The spirit of our team is guided by ensuring your celebration is a process from thought to finish, and should feel incredibly personal to you and your guests.
