Go, Murph. Go!

Last year we celebrated our little guy turning THREE with the sweetest little lake weekend and a simple “Go, Dog. Go!” inspired setup. And honestly? It ended up being one of my favorite parties we’ve done.

No giant bounce houses. No over-the-top installations. Just a cozy little celebration filled with books, balloons, hot dogs, sunshine, and apparently… dog bowls 😂 because somehow THOSE became the highlight of the entire party.

I think that’s what I love most about birthdays for little kids. It’s never really about how big the party is. It’s the tiny things they latch onto that become the magic. The things you almost don’t even think twice about while planning end up becoming their core memory.

We kept the colors playful and vintage-inspired with all the nostalgic “Go, Dog. Go!” vibes and let the lake house do the rest. Simple, sweet, and perfectly Murph. 🤍

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. 🇺🇸

For me, one name will always stand out: HM3 Corpsman Maxton W. Soviak — “Devil Doc” — who gave his life serving our country on August 26, 2021.

In 2021, I received a Facebook message from Maxton’s mom, Rachel, asking about our wooden backdrop she had seen on Facebook Marketplace. At the time, I had no idea how much that message would stay with me, or how often I would think about their family, especially now as a mom of two boys.

There are some moments that stay with you forever... not because of what you created, but because of the people, the love and sacrifice, and the meaning behind it all. Meeting Maxton’s family and witnessing the strength, pride, and heartbreak they carried is something I will never forget.

His motto, “Live Life to the MAX,” has stayed with me ever since. Maxton’s life and legacy became a reminder to create more, love harder, and live life to its fullest potential.

May we pause to pray over the families who have given everything, and continue to say their names, share their stories, and carry their legacies forward.

Couldn’t find the Ninja Kidz themed invite we envisioned so we designed our own 🥷💥

From the custom invites to the custom bags and bottles, every detail was created to bring this birthday to life. While the custom details were a hit, the indoor ninja gym absolutely stole the show.

Because let’s be honest… sweaty, exhausted kids at the end of a birthday party is how you know it was a success!

When your kid requests a Ninja Kidz inspired birthday party… you deliver 🥷

We rented out a local ninja park for the ultimate action-packed celebration, and after getting home from being out of town the night before, these grab-and-go balloon clusters were the PERFECT quick setup win.

Paired with backpacks, personalized water bottles for rehydrating, bubble wand swords, and ninja fruit blocks, the kidz had an absolute blast. ❤️💙🩷🧡

Definitely channeling our inner Bryton, Ashton, Paxton, and Payton for this one.

POV: you plan your sister the ultimate girls’ sleepover surprise for her birthday… she sees it before the concert, everyone screams, we head to Zach Bryan in Cleveland, stay out entirely too late, and then fully enjoy the setup the next morning 😂

The details did not disappoint… even if our bedtime absolutely did. 🤍

Wrapping up the design on this year’s birthday party invite and somehow found myself going back through all our past themes 🥹✨

And honestly… I still don’t think anything will top our Savannah Bananas party. The bright colors, the over-the-top details, the Split Bar and even a home-made piñata. It was one of those themes that completely came to life in the best way possible.

These are the projects that always remind me why I fell in love with design in the first place.

I graduated from Ohio University with my BFA in Graphic Design and jumped straight into agency life after college. Somewhere between deadlines, campaigns, learning all design mediums and now working full-time as a Marketing Director, I realized how much joy I still find in creating things that feel personal and memorable.

That’s honestly what Boltz Bash has become for me. A place where I can go all in creatively again. A place where I get to obsess over color palettes, typography, party details, signage, invitations, and all the little things people may not even notice… but somehow still feel.

And getting to do that for our boys? Even more special.
