We hope you will join us this Saturday for 😍Raíces, Ritmos, y Recuerdos: The 5th Annual Akron Latin Festival (Roots, Rhythms, and Memories)—September 20, from 2 – 9 pm in Lock 3 Akron, Ohio.

We are so excited for this event, which we co-present with Mi Proyecto Raices CLA.

We’re looking forward to musical performances by Conjunto Guarachando, Herencia Norteña, DJ LOLO KNOWS, and Grupo Fuego 🔥, as well as live wrestling demos with NEOPro Wrestling, hourly piñatas, face painting, balloon art, soccer demos, crafts with Akron Children's Museum, fireworks, and more.

We are also thrilled to welcome special guest emcee for the festival, RAFA "EL ALCALDE", Syndicated sportscaster, Bilingual Announcer for Cleveland Cavaliers. First Hispanic to have called finals of all three major sports in the US in Spanish!

We’re also looking forward to having a wide array of foods, representing many different Latin American cultures—from authentic Mexican street food to Puerto Rican cuisine, Venezuelan baked goods, Salvadoran delights, and more—as well as artisan goods sold exclusively by Latin-owned artists and entrepreneurs.

Summit County Turning Point Program, in collaboration with the City of Akron, is holding the third annual Community Resource Fair at Lock 3. This resource fair is designed to connect you with community resource organizations for support in all areas of wellness. We will have representatives from Adult Probation Departments in Akron Municipal Court and Summit County Court of Common Pleas, as well as a caseworker onsite from Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro's Department of Job & Family Services. Come out and engage with County of Summit ADM Board, IBH Addiction Recovery, ARC Recovery Services, CHC Addiction Services, Hope United and other local recovery support organizations. Connect with the Akron Area YMCA for wellness opportunities. Talk to South Street Ministries about community engagement and empowerment. Learn about transportation stability with METRO Regional Transit Authority. Get advice from representatives from Elliot Kolkovich, Summit County Prosecutor and the Summit Legal Defenders. Over fifty community organizations will be there to talk to you and help you overcome obstacles to success in your life. Please join us and bring a friend.
