The Akron Yacht Club is dedicated to the enjoyment of boating, promoting watercraft safety, protecting our waterways and environment, as well as being good neighbors. We firmly believe in and enjoy the camaraderie that boating naturally promotes among boaters. As a club, we are proud of the relationships and friendships that we have forged through the years with many other boating organizations; n
ot only locally, but in the state of Ohio as a whole and the surrounding states as well. It is where we gather and socialize with our friends and our other boating families. The Akron Yacht Club is governed by a Board of Governors and Club Officers according to the rules and regulations of our Constitution and By-Laws. Our club is non-profit and to keep our dues low, it is expected that members help with minor club and property maintenance when asked, attend our fundraisers and attend our social events. Our club operates solely though monies received from our annual dues, dock rental fees and fundraisers. Our members are also encouraged to attend our Membership/Operations Meetings which are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7PM. Information for those interested in joining the Akron Yacht Club: We invite you to attend a monthly membership meeting so you can see how the club functions. Meetings are held at the AYC clubhouse at 7PM on the 3rd Thursday of the month. During the meeting, guests and prospective members will be asked to stand and introduce themselves to the club. You may request an application for membership at the meeting. Please note: There is currently a waiting list for docks and membership in the Akron Yacht Club is required to be added to the dock list.
