A couple of months we have worked with many children on the spectrum. Sometimes it can be challenging for children who experience sensory overload. The feel of a brush or a sponge on their face is uncomfortable or the sound of a balloon being twisted or popped is overwhelming.
here are some tips on things that we do to make the experience for them is more enjoyable in the instance that they TRULY do wanna be a part of that experience. It's never a good idea to force a child to participate in these activities because we always want the experience to be magical and enjoyable never to inflict trauma or stress.

1. Allow the child to sit comfortably in the lap of a loved one.
2. do a test spot on the child's hand allow them to see that it is safe.
3. Involve them as much as you can in the process. Don't worry about your line. Take your time with these ones.
4. Allow them to hold the mirror and watch the process.
5. If a part of a balloon needs to be removed rather than allowing it to make a loud pop, make a small incision at the end of the balloon and allow it to release slowly and quietly.
6. Slow down your pace when twisting Balloons will reduce the amount of squeaking while shaping them into sculptures.

Let me be completely honest, as a wife and busy mom, making life fun is one of my natural job descriptions. I started out painting face to add to the festivities at my kids birthday parties. Needless to say, it was a big hit! All of my family and friends said I should really think about offering my services to others. So I took a leap of faith and business picked up sooner than I thought. I was blessed with the opportunity to expand with more entertainment, and with the support of my loving husband, we hit the ground running. Every event I've done I find myself smiling uncontrollably. Not many of us, have the pleasure of being so happy with what we do. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT I DO!!!

I founded Colorful Events in Metro Detroit in 2015. I have a passion for everything crafty. I've always said it runs in my genes because of my mother's creativity. I studied art at Eastern Michigan University, and really developed my passion and explored the possibilities as an artist. Although Colorful events is a new and ever growing company, we are founded on the principle of bringing joy to our clients, and being of service to our surrounding communities. "Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while climbing it. " Andy Rooney Colorful Events will always have room to grow. We will continue to add new styles and designs, as well as keep up with the most current trends in family entertainment. As I look into the face of my children, I continue to be inspired.
