The Story Behind the Logo

My logo tells the story of where I come from and the soul behind Da Bayou Lady Catering. It reflects the days and nights spent on the bayou in Pass Christian, Mississippi—known to the locals simply as “The Pass.”

Some of my favorite memories are sitting by the water with my mama, watching pelicans and blue herons glide across the sky. There’s nothing quite like a Pass Christian sunset—the sky painted in gold and orange, the moonlight shimmering over the bayous that wind their way into Bay St. Louis.

Those peaceful, powerful moments shaped who I am. Now, every meal I make carries a bit of that bayou magic and Southern comfort.

Because around here, food isn’t just a meal—it’s a memory.

Today, I rang the bell after completing 25 rounds of radiation for breast cancer. It’s been a journey filled with strength, vulnerability, and a whole lot of courage.

That final ring wasn’t just the end of treatment—it symbolized every side effect, every tear shed, and every moment I chose to keep going.

I’m so grateful for my incredible care team, the unwavering support from my family and friends, and the inner strength I didn’t know I had.

Let me break it down for the folks in the back: crawfish are basically the raccoons of the bayou. Bottom feeders. Mud dwellers. Little swamp roaches with an attitude. If you ain’t purging ‘em, you’re not having a seafood boil, you’re throwing a dirty water buffet.

Purge those suckers in water, give ‘em a little rinse, and let ‘em say their muddy goodbyes.
Because ain’t nobody trying to eat a crawfish that tastes like a ditch behind the Dollar General.

Why skip the part where you clean the crawfish? Respect the boil, folks.
