I recently saw a post in a b***o group from a gentleman who was frustrated that his 1-1/2 year old Jack didnβt have the patience for βbeer-b***o-ingβ. He was asking for advice. Preparing a b***o to be confident and patient in these environments takes a TON of training, patience and trial. With the growing popularity of this business, I see more and more people thinking their sweet friendly pasture friends should be able to seamlessly transition to being an event donkey. While a sweet temperament is important, it is by no means the whole package. Bandit was never able to become comfortable wearing the saddle and baskets. We no longer ask that of him. Letβs all do right by our long-eared friends and listen to them when they tell us they are uncomfortable, and lovingly act accordingly.
