We're all about splurging on the flashy stuff: new furniture, fresh paint, and upgrades that are easy to see. But let's be real, the real MVPs are the behind-the-scenes heroes that keep everything running smoothly.

This summer we made an investment in a new pump station for the South Course (yawn, we know, but stick with us). The old one was on its last leg, and a breakdown in the middle of a sweltering West Texas summer would've left us high and dry (literally). Not exactly the most glamorous investment, but trust us, it's essential.

Huge shoutout to South Course Superintendent John Montgomery for making it happen! Give him a high-five if you see him!

Yesterday, we celebrated something truly special, something you don’t see very often anymore.

The beloved Artie Smith celebrated 50 years with Abilene Country Club.

If you know Artie, you know she probably wouldn’t want us making too much of a fuss about it, but if you know Artie, you also know there’s no way we could let 50 years go by without celebrating just how much she means to this Club.

From the soup you’ve eaten to knowing exactly how you like your eggs cooked, Artie has been behind more memories, meals, and moments at Abilene Country Club than most of us could ever count. For five decades, she has quietly taken care of generations of members and done it in the way only Artie can.

And her family’s connection to this Club runs even deeper. Five generations of the Smith family have invested their time, talent, and care into Abilene Country Club. That kind of legacy is incredibly rare, and we are incredibly fortunate to be part of it.

So even if she’d rather we didn’t make a big deal about it, we’re going to anyway.

Join all of us at Abilene Country Club and, hell, the rest of Abilene, in congratulating Artie Smith on 50 remarkable years.

We love you, Artie. Thank you for taking care of us for all these years. Here’s to 50. ❤️

Registration will begin on August 1st; everyone is welcome to begin registration at this time.
All teams will be on a ‘pending list’ until confirmed by our Professional Team.
Member/Member and Member/Guest teams will be confirmed first,
Guest/Guest teams who played in the ‘The 501 Open’ in 2024 or 2025 will be confirmed beginning August 8th, all other Guest/Guest teams will be confirmed beginning August 15th.
