Stars to watch out for in 2021

ISAAC SSEJJOMBWE

BREAKOUT: 2020 is going to be an unforgettable year for every sector because it was the year when business was unusual. Artistes, however, did not stop and managed to release hits during the season. As we welcome the new year, Isaac Ssejjombwe brings you artistes we expect to dominate the music industry.

Dre Cali

Listening to Dre Cali, you would think it is Mowzey Radio singing. Not that they have the same vocal range, but mostly because of the lyrical content in his songs. Some critics even came out to suggest Weasel must have given him some of the songs Radio left behind. This rumour was even made the rumours worse when Ykee Benda featured Weasel on his latest jam “Radio Man”.

Born Andrew Stephen Katende, Dre Cali is signed to Ykee Benda’s Mpaka Records and so far has songs such as “Ebisoka Nebisembayo”, “Ekifuba”, “Zigi Zaga”, “Ewaluma” and “Onanagiza”.

We believe it is going to be a good year for him, only if he gets his identity together. We have since seen artistes use other people’s trademarks to pe*****te the industry but fail to go far. People such as Denis Bitone has been said to be among those imitating Jose Chameleone while Opafambo has been imitating Ziza Bafana.

Crysto Panda

Herbert Kityamuweesi, better known as Crysto Panda, is an NTV T-Nation and Dance Party presenter. 2020 presented him an opportunity to join the music industry and boy did he cause a storm! From having some of the top charts this year, including “Kyolina Omanya”, “Bino” and “Tuli Mu Struggle” to being the biggest recipient of the Buzz Teeniez Awards 2020 – he won four accolades – Panda has stamped his foot on the music scene. With all this success in just a single year, he just has to keep focussed to make 2021 even be better.

Martha Mukisa

Born on September 24, 1994, Martha Mukisa is an Afropop, RnB and Reggae singer and songwriter . She has been in the music industry since 2009 and garnered positi

_*miu press news........*_
A few weeks ago, singer Ronald came out and said that his support for the ruling government was just a season, “We were in the political season and I had to get along,” he said while attending Evelyn Lagu’s car wash fundraising event.

Ronald Mayinja is one interesting artiste, isn’t he? On several occasions, he has been quoted denying things he said on camera.

This time however he is not denying anything but is rather looking to catch the president’s attention. The singer wants president Museveni to appoint him the minister in charge of the Ugandan entertainment industry.

He was one of the artistes on Museveni’s campaign trails after he defected from Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP)

He was heavily crucified for the move by his fans but that didn’t stop him. He went on and sang a song praising President Museveni and his achievements.

Mayinja now wants the president to reward him for his hard work that contributed to the president’s win in the January polls. The ‘Bizemu’ singer wants a ministerial post as the head of the entertainment industry.

It is a position Mayinja believes he deserves and can manage. During a TV interview, he revealed that he has what it takes to lead the entertainment sector. He also revealed that he has no regrets about his decision to join the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

“I don’t regret joining NRM. I am praying that the President appoints me as the head of the entertainment industry. We need our ministry that deals with our affairs. Our money will be coming straight to us,” he said.
