A Decade of Living Traditions”Yilan Center for Traditional Arts 10th Anniversary Publication
For this project, 2byWu&Chen took charge of the overall editorial design and publication direction. Centered around the theme “Living Traditions,” the book revisits and reorganizes ten years of cultural archives, local stories, people, and landscapes from the Yilan Center for Traditional Arts.
Rather than being just a commemorative publication, the book aims to introduce traditional arts in a more approachable and everyday way. Through portraits, spaces, and small daily moments — combined with photography, writing, and a carefully paced reading experience — the publication explores how traditional culture can naturally continue to exist within contemporary life, instead of simply being preserved as history.
The visual design features a muted color palette, fabric-textured cover materials, and warm tactile paper stock, paired with large-scale imagery and a calm reading rhythm. Together, these elements reflect the warmth and depth that traditional culture builds over time.
