Sometimes you walk into a property and immediately start imagining what could happen here. That was my experience walking through the amazing Canboulay Villa Tobago

If you really want to experience Tobago, go beyond the beaches. Every year, the village of Charlotteville takes visitors on a journey into a part of Tobago’s past through Natural Treasures Day, one of the events of the Tobago Heritage Festival.

The journey through the village brings old traditions back to life, from dancing the cocoa and baking bread in a dirt oven to extracting cane juice using the batty mill, washing at the river and the sounds of tamboo bamboo.

What I love most about experiences like this is what they reveal about Tobago. They tell the story of communities that knew how to use what was around them. How people worked, prepared food, produced what they needed and created traditions that have been passed from one generation to another.

This is another side of Tobago I want the couples who follow us from around the world to see.

We’re intentional about what we source and what we place into a design, because the finished experience is only as good as the details used to create it.

Congratulations to our wonderful couple who traveled from the US to Tobago to celebrate their love surrounded by family and friends.

Our approach to wedding design begins with understanding our couple’s vision and the space we’re working with.

For this ceremony, we brought together layers of blue and white florals, natural wood chairs and a clean white aisle, creating a design that complemented Tobago’s lush tropical surroundings without competing with them.

Every element was chosen to work beautifully together while allowing the natural beauty of the location to shine.
