I had the pleasure of hosting this Purple Mountains Sunset Sip & Paint for an incredible group of ladies. Everyone looked absolutely stunning, and you could truly see the beautiful bond they share as family and friends.

“Gone Fishing” 🐠 — a one hour painting.

For this one, I used the crafty technique of painting the canvas a magenta color initially, then I layered the colors of sea and sand on top. This gives it a kind of feel and look I wouldn’t have been able to achieve if I hadn’t painted the canvas magenta first.

Acrylics and impasto on 16 x 20 canvas.

What are your thoughts? Can you see the magenta underneath mingling with the colors of the sea, sand and sky?
