Marilyn’s journey began in the events industry when she owned and operated one of the first party rental companies in Trinidad, P&S Rentals. Providing advice to clients who were hosting events was expected, so she decided to educate herself and became an Event Planner. Marilyn quickly saw her passion for planning weddings evolve and found her niche in that area, leading to the establishment of Triniweddings, a premier wedding planning company 30+ years ago. In 2008 she became a member of The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and remains an active member.
Throughout her career, she has successfully planned numerous local weddings for prominent clients, collaborating with the country's best service providers to deliver exceptional events. Her Certified Wedding Specialist, Sandals WeddingMoons Specialist, Certified Sandals Specialist (Gold), and Weddings Beautiful licensee designations, reflect her commitment to excellence and continuous learning. As a Weddings Beautiful Licensee, she conducts courses and confers certification to aspiring wedding planners in the Caribbean area helping to elevate the standards and practices of the profession.
She has been honored by the International International Live Events Association for being a founding member of the South Florida/Caribbean Chapter and the first Caribbean member. In recognition of her work, Trini Weddings was awarded "Wedding Specialist of the Year 2017" and "Destination Wedding Specialist in 2019" by the Luxury Travel Guide.
She is dedicated to fostering a supportive and innovative environment for wedding planners in the region and her aim has always been to leverage her extensive experience and industry insights, to enhance the collective expertise in the Caribbean.
We know that as co-P.O.D.S. leaders, working closely with Nikki Hilaire-Roach, the two of them will do excellent things to build ABC in Trinidad and Tobago.
