No way. I had no idea of that connection.
Just yesterday I saw a man wearing their green kit in the mall.

🚨 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪: In 1914, a group of Italian immigrants in Brazil gathered and founded Palestra Italia, a soccer club that sought to unite the Italians living there.

That club would later change its name to Palmeiras. And it has always maintained its link with Italy (that's why its green color, which evokes the flag).

Today, they launched their third kit in honor of Italy, World Cup Champion in 2006, as the 20th anniversary of that title is celebrated. 💙

Certainly at the time it was Baggio, that was literally my role model. Since then the game has evolved and so have I. Currently I operate more like Iniesta. Y'all get ready for that the best you can.

Paying homage to the greatest defender I've ever seen play. For our Footy Friday match I pulled out this vintage Italy tee, which was older than all my millennial opponents 🤣
I didn't record the shut out I wanted, but scored a double, one with each foot.

I really want to say thank you to the teachers at Newtown Boys R.C School, who taught me the following subjects:'Dictation' which developed my listening skills, and 'Reading and Comprehension' which developed my Analytical Skills.
I deeply sympathize with the many of you, who clearly did not have that experience.
