To all those persons that are new to car audio competitions and those that may have stopped competing, at ANY War Lords Promotions.Ltd EVENT, our judges will be impartial as displayed at our recent show.

Kevin Cornwall Jay Jay Azzad Ali WLP judges there are no DOCTORED SCORE SHEETS.
As soon as the both rounds were finished in each category, the scores were totaled and the first and second place winners were announced.
On another note, as far as I understand, favoritism runs rampant in most shows, this was only one of the reasons that the promoters chose judges that competitors did not know.
Many of you were upset because the crowd made a lot of noise and you did not win.
Please understand there were five DIFFERENT CRITERIA to the judging of the vehicles.
(1) high
(2) mid
(3) low
(4) sub
(5) spectral balance
THERE WAS NOTHING CONCERNING CROWD PARTICIPATION.
Many competitors made some silly mistakes. I will now list a few:
(1) poor choice of music.
(2) no alignment between components that share common frequencies.
(3) choosing installers that can do a great looking installation, but does not have a proper ear for sound, or even a proper understanding of the theory concerning sound.
(4) inadequate power supply.
(5) competitors becoming over zealous, especially in round two, by turning up their volume to the point of serious distortion.
(6) some competitors feeling that they may have won previous competitions so they would automatically have won this one. SO VERY SAD.
(7) it seemed quite obvious to me that very few competitors understood the meaning of the term SPECTRAL BALANCE.

Judges remarks- Azad Ali

The Warzone was created by the War Lords technical team and was approved by myself, Azad Ali.

Criteria of judging the Warzone.

A judge should have the ability to determine frequency response and to identify annoying and unwanted frequencies.

To determine spectral balance includes:
If a system is producing full bandwidth with no frequency gaps.
All frequency levels must be balanced, which will determine the overall sound.

Judging a vehicle is a professional opinion based on these criteria, experience, exposure and knowing exactly what to look for in a sound system. Please note that the Sound Pressure Level or dB level does not determine quality, and the final determination is made by the human ear.

I Richard Rampersad owner of War Lords Promotions Limited would like to take this opportunity to address some of the issues highlighted by our disgruntled competitors.

The major issue was judging. Over the years competitors have pleaded for fair judging. There was a want for qualified men with experience. War Lords Promotions Limited met this requirement as can be seen by the brief bio of our judges below.

Warzone Judge- Azad Ali- The owner of A and E Electrical Engineering Ltd as well as Azad Speaker Works Ltd. With over thirty years experience in pro and car audio systems, distributor of Industrial and Audio Products. Professional consultant on Electrical and Audio Systems. Manufacturer of loudspeaker voice coils, re-coning and professional speaker repairs. He designs and commissions sound systems and is well recognized in the music industry.

Arena Judge Kevin Cornwalll- The owner of Pro Audio Sound Reinforcement Limited. With over Twenty years experience in the audio industry, provider of large scale Pro Audio systems performance stages and lighting trusts. He was once the distributor of Stinger products and the owner of Electronic Shoppers located in El Socorro. He is no longer actively involved in car audio installation and designing of sound systems as it is no longer feasible for his current pro audio business.

Arena Judge- Justin Insanali- With over ten years experience in car audio, Justin is qualified in Mobile Dynamic Electronic installs as well as in Consumer Electronics both with first class honours from Canada. He is also the owner of the foreign car audio crew wildly popular and respected Bass Mekhanics.

Show Judge & Best Paint Judge - Dave Roopchand managing director of Dave's millennium cars services comes to the judge table with over 20 years experience in the body shop field. Having worked at one of the best body shops in Trinidad for over 13 year's and 7 years on my own.
