👀 “I kept hearing knocking… there’s a rocking chair… the kitchen is outside… and even my dad is scared.”
We recently received this wonderfully vivid review from a young guest staying with his family. In his words, our home was “kind of creepy,” full of mysterious knocks, distant train horns, and wandering rooftop cats. We absolutely loved reading it — and it made us smile. 😊
To clarify a little: our house isn’t a century-old mansion, but a colonial-style home built just over 10 years ago. The design was lovingly inspired by a former family home that once stood on this land — a quiet retreat in the heart of Bangkok. It was built not to impress, but to remember.
Here, things move slowly. You’ll hear birds in the morning. Leaves rustling. A squirrel dashing across the garden wall. Sometimes trains passing by. And yes — our neighbor’s cats who think the rooftops are their personal kingdom. 😺
We understand these sounds can feel unfamiliar for those used to silence. That’s why we provide earplugs in every room, just in case you’d prefer to rest without the soundtrack of local life.
For guests, we’ve prepared a small refreshment area downstairs — with tea, coffee, a microwave, kettle, and simple utensils — perfect for warming up a meal or enjoying a quiet cup. Each room also has its own fridge tucked neatly inside the closet. (The outdoor kitchen is for staff use only.)
This isn’t a place with flashy amenities or a tightly scheduled itinerary. It’s a home for those who want to slow down, open the windows, let the breeze roll in… and maybe hear something different from the usual city noise.
Not haunted — just alive in its own way. 🌿
