Turn your memories into clay keepsakes.

In this clay workshop by , you’ll turn memories, sensations, or feelings you want to remember into bas-relief tiles that can be held and kept forever.

The process is rooted in ‘Phab Jab’ (ภาพจับ), a traditional art technique used to capture interactions between characters in Thai literature.

No experience needed! You will be guided by the artist through the entire process.

เมื่อสองปีก่อน นักเขียนของ ONCE สะดุดตากับประติมากรรมชิ้นหนึ่งในงาน Mango Art Festival ที่เชียงใหม่ รูปปั้นที่มองเผินๆ คล้ายเทพเจ้ากรีกแต่กลับซ่อนความเป็นไทยไว้ที่ชฎาและเครื่องประดับ นั่นเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ทำให้ ชื่อ ‘วายุพัด’ Vayu Pad ศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ผู้นี้น่าจับตามอง
วายุพัดเติบโตมาในครอบครัวศิลปิน เขาซึมซับศิลปะไทยแท้มาจากคุณพ่อที่เป็นช่างสิบหมู่ ขณะเดียวกันก็คลุกคลีกับเทคนิคศิลปะจากตะวันตกอย่างใกล้ชิดจากคุณลุงผู้เป็นช่างปั้นอนุสาวรีย์ขนาดใหญ่ สิ่งเหล่านี้ปูพื้นฐานศิลปะชั้นดีให้เขาก่อนเข้าศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร เขาเลือกหยิบความประณีตอ่อนช้อยของลายไทยมาทลายกรอบความนิ่งเด็ดขาดตามขนบเดิม แล้วเติมท่วงท่าที่ผ่อนคลาย อารมณ์ และมัดกล้ามเนื้อในสไตล์ตะวันตกลงไปในเนื้อดินเทอร์ราคอตตา วัสดุที่ดิบสดและซื่อตรงต่อความรู้สึกในวินาทีที่ปั้นมากที่สุด

Here is a glimpse into Vayupad’s working space, where he explores how feelings, sensations, and experiences that are difficult to grasp, such as time, weather, and the changing seasons, can be translated into clay figures.

Visit the studio to witness the process of creating his new set of artworks firsthand, and explore our house to discover selected pieces from his previous practice, displayed throughout different corners.

จะดีแค่ไหนถ้าได้เห็นประติมากรมาสร้างสรรค์ผลงานประติมากรรมให้ดูแบบสด ๆ ตรงหน้า

Baan Trok Tua Ngork พื้นที่สร้างสรรค์สุดเก๋ในตึกเก่าย่านวงเวียน 22 กรกฎาคม กำลังจัดโปรเจกต์ Artist Residency ร่วมกับ ‘วายุพัด รัตนเพชร’ ประติมากรดาวรุ่งผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานปั้นร่วมสมัย แต่แฝงกลิ่นอายตามขนบแบบงงานศิลปะไทยประเพณี ที่กำลังมาแรงในศักราชนี้

งานนี้จะพาทุกคนไปสำรวจ ‘งานประติมากรรม’ ที่ไม่ได้เป็นแค่เพียงงานศิลปะ แต่อยู่ในฐานะเครื่องมือบันทึกความเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้นตลอดมา ผ่าน 3 กิจกรรมที่จัดขึ้นภายใต้ชายคาของอาคารอายุกว่า 100 ปี ได้แก่
- Live Studio : เปิดประสบการณ์ใหม่ ดูศิลปินสร้างสรรค์ประติมากรรมแบบเรียลไทม์ สังเกตกระบวนการระหว่างทำงาน พร้อมพูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนอย่างใกล้ชิด
- Workshop : เรียนรู้การทำงานกับดิน ทำความเข้าใจแนวคิดทางศิลปะไทยเรื่อง ‘ภาพจับ’ ผ่านการแนะนำและสาธิตโดยศิลปิน ก่อนขยับไม้ขยับมือปั้นดินสร้างสรรค์ผลงานนูนต่ำของตัวเอง
- Exhibition : ชมนิทรรศการที่รวบรวมผลงานประติมากรรมของวายุพัด ที่สร้างขึ้นระหว่างการเป็นศิลปินพำนัก

A collaborative residency project between Baan Trok Tua Ngork and our 2nd artist, Vayupad Ruttanapet (), is beginning this Saturday, May 30.

Join us in exploring sculpting as a tool to capture constant changes, through curated programmings:

⚫️Live Studio - Witness the artist create his new series of sculptures in real-time. Observe the process and engage in conversations with Vayupad.

⚫️ Workshop - Learn how to work with clay and understand the Thai concept of capturing movements —“Phab Jab” (ภาพจับ)— through an introduction and demonstration by Vayupad. Then, get hands-on to turn your fondest memories into beautiful raised clay tiles.

⚫️ Exhibition - Experience the final showcase of sculptures, produced by Vayupad during the residency to capture the intangibility of seasons, time, and weather.

The studio is open for viewing from 10:00–22:00 (everyday), while the artist will be onsite based on the schedule on slide 2.
