Time sure fly by so quickly. 2 years have passed and it’s the time of the year for AGM, a new team will be up and running.

Firstly, our heartiest Congratulations goes to 2 Star of FDSS award recipients. They are:

On 5 April 2025, Vice President Evelyn Lee and the passionate members of the Floral Designer Society Singapore (FDSS) brought creativity to life at the World Skills Singapore 2025 event, held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Hall!
Our interactive workshop, "Floral Elements in Career Design," invited students and the public to explore how floral artistry connects with career paths in fashion, art, events, and more. With hands-on floral arranging, personal storytelling, and lots of laughter, the hall was filled with blooming ideas and budding dreams.
A big thank you to all the enthusiastic participants who made this workshop such a memorable one. We loved seeing your talent and creativity shine through every petal and stem!

The Art of Weaving Ketupat: A Knotty but Beautiful Journey on 27 March 2025 at CreativeWorkz Studio

Members and friends gathered for a fun-filled session to learn the timeless art of weaving ketupat, guided by our longstanding committee member Christina Pang AIFD. Though the process was tricky at first—with knotty fingers and a few missteps—everyone was determined to master the craft. It was truly a test of patience and skill, but the determination paid off!

Once the ketupat weaving was mastered, the real fun began! Participants unleashed their creativity, turning their woven masterpieces into stunning, contemporary floral arrangements. The ketupat, traditionally a symbol of togetherness and celebration, was given a modern twist, making for some beautiful, unique designs.

What a wonderful time it was, blending tradition with creativity, and creating memories that will surely last.

Have you ever wondered how it’s been done?
I always wanted to learn to make a ketupat, and here’s a chance to get into action and use ribbons to make one.
Many uses to these ketupat, enhance or decorate your gift boxes, hampers and/or bouquets.
There will be fellowship, tea break and lots to share and learn!
Christina Pang AIFD, CFD will be leading the workshop.

FDSS Chinese New Year annual celebration, celebrating the festival of spring with flowers, fun games and festive cheer. It was amazing to see so many participants with smiling faces and happy to share with us in the excitement and joyful celebration together.
Christopher Lim AIFD,CFD, our well recognised floral artist and educator conducted an interesting creative floral demonstration/workshop using mini bamboo sticks and angpows. It was very well received and all workshop participants took home their own personal arrangements.
Our big Thanks to all Committee members for your enthusiastic contributions to this event. All attendees enjoyed the well
planned potluck home-cooked yummy food and desserts.
The fun game and lucky draw were the highlights of the evening.

We thank Rona Ee AIFD, CFD for her generous gesture, opening up ‘Sing See Soon Floral & Landscape Pte Ltd’ for this festive occasion. Her contribution of $100 gift voucher for the lucky draw added to the excitement.

We thank All gift sponsors especially Ms June Foo AIFD,CFD for the top 3 big angpow cash prizes. All went home happy with their prizes.
It was a successful memorable event with specially prepared festive orange pack gift presented to all individuals by Christina Pang AIFD, CFD.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Chinese New Year special festive celebration! We're so grateful for your support and for being part of our FDSS community. We are already looking forward to next year's celebration!
