Do you think music should always be easy to like? Theo Parrish has often talked about the idea that “If everybody understands it, it’s probably too easy.”

The first time I heard this idea, it really stayed with me.
Because it goes against everything we’re pushed to expect today.

Everything has to be immediate.
A track must work in 10 seconds.
The drop has to come fast.
The emotion has to be clear, easy, effortless.

And yet…
A lot of the music I love — and play — doesn’t work that way.

This quote defends something essential: curiosity.
Music doesn’t have to reveal itself instantly.
It can resist.
It can feel uncomfortable.
It can take time.

And that’s often where the most interesting things begin.

As a DJ, I like to leave space for that.
Letting a groove settle.
Trusting a record that doesn’t hit right away, but slowly finds its place.

Friday September 19th, from 6PM to midnight, we’re closing this season of Camino del Sol with a very special night at Plat/forme – and I couldn’t dream of a brighter lineup. 🌞

DJ OIL – A true sound explorer, from jazz to organic Cosmic grooves, known for his unforgettable live sets (including MUTEK) and acclaimed albums. .

🎧 Vidal Benjamin – The selector with a golden touch, famous for unearthing rare disco and French gems, always mixing the past with the future. Eclectic, surprising, and irresistibly groovy.

This will be the last Camino del Sol of the season, and we’ll make it one to remember. 🌙✨

Les ami(e)s, j'espère que cet été se passe bien pour vous.
Peu sur les réseaux car je bosse sur une compilation de 15 reworks inédits que j'aimerai sortir en vinyl.

Aussi, pour la prochaine date de ma résidence " Camino Del Sol" at PLAT/FORM après avoir reçu Flabaire Dj Jee Serious A , je reçois deux des meilleurs collectionneurs large spectre pour la prochaine :

Lionel Corsini alias dj oil : ai-je besoin de le présenter ? Passionné au grand coeur, Lionel Corsini est le fondateur du groupe Troublemakers avec Fred Berthet et Arnaud Taillefer, qu'il rencontre à la Friche Belle de Mai[5]. Dès son premier disque Doubts & Convictions paru en 2000 sur un label américain pointu, Guidance Recordings (en), le groupe connaît une reconnaissance internationale[4]. Leur second album, Express Way, sort en 2004 sur le label Blue Note. Il nous reviendra du MUTEC, festival dans lequel il s'est produit en LIVE !!

Je suis heureux de vous annoncer le lancement de Mainstreet HOLDTight & Friends, ma nouvelle résidence vinyl-only au Listener, l’un des meilleurs listener bars de France.

L’idée ? Créer une expérience musicale rare, sensible, et profondément humaine. Un véritable moment de partage, où chaque soirée devient une exploration des spectres sonores du monde entier. Jazz, soul, funk, disco, house, city pop japonaise… tout est là, sélectionné avec soin et amour par différents djs.

À chaque date, je convie des artistes invités, des diggers, des amis passionnés qui viendront présenter leur culture musicale et leur univers sonore — sous mon égide, en toute liberté et sincérité.
