As part of SwissCham Singaporeโ€™s AI Leadership Series, we went behind the scenes at Barry Callebautโ€™s Global Innovation Center in Singapore to discover how AI and technology are transforming the chocolate and food industry.

The exclusive visit offered participants a closer look at how AI is being applied across R&D, innovation and the value chain, while showcasing how consumer trends and technical expertise can be turned into scalable solutions.

A few interesting insights from the visit:

๐Ÿซ Singaporeans consume an average of 1.1 kg of chocolate per person per year, compared with around 10 kg in Switzerland.

๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต At around 2.5 kg per person per year, Japan has the highest chocolate consumption in Asia.

๐Ÿญ Barry Callebaut can produce a chocolate table weighing up to 1,000 kg, highlighting the scale and technical capabilities involved in chocolate production.

Yesterday, we launched the series with a full house at Fairmont Singapore & Swissรดtel The Stamford, bringing together leaders from business, government and academia for an engaging discussion on how AI is moving beyond the hype and into real-world strategy and enterprise transformation.

Our President, Julie Raneda, officially opened the series, highlighting why AI has become a strategic priority across SwissCham Singaporeโ€™s committees and a topic that connects industries and business functions.
