Start date confirmed for The Ocean Race 2022-23
Two race fleets will assemble in Alicante before a mid-January 2023 start for leg one of the around-the-world race. Both IMOCA and VO65 fleets will begin the race on Sunday, 15 January 2023 from Alicante on Spain’s Mediterranean coast.

The Ocean Race has confirmed both the IMOCA and VO65 fleets will begin the 2022-23 edition of the race on Sunday, 15 January 2023.

During the Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, the United Nations Sports for Climate Action initiative, which The Ocean Race is part of, announced that it has joined the Race to Zero. Organisations in the Race to Zero must aim to halve their greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions by 2030 and reach net zero emissions by 2040. This means removing an equivalent amount of GHGs from the atmosphere, to balance those that have been created by the organisation.

The Ocean Race is joining hundreds of leading sports organisations across the world in making bold commitments to drastically reduce its impact on the environment.

REVISION TO THE NUMBER OF PERSONS ONBOARD PLEASURE CRAFT IN THE PORT OF SINGAPORE

This Port Marine Circular (PMC) supersedes PMC 42 of 2021 with effect from 22 Nov 2021.
Gatherings of more than 5 persons* onboard any pleasure craft are prohibited with the following exemptions:
a) SZH-licensed pleasure craft activities; and
b) Marriage solemnisation onboard SZ-licensed pleasure craft.
* This limit of 5 persons does not include the master/crew employed (i.e. being paid a salary) to operate the craft and should at no time exceed the craft licensed carrying capacity.

Great Britain SailGP Team capsizes during the Cadiz Sail GP final race as Australia SailGP Team and USA SailGP Team moves around them. The Australians were then able to break away and lead the final race to the finish. A dramatic afternoon in Cadiz ended with Australia winning the Spain Sail Grand Prix to return to the top of the SailGP Season Championship ahead of their home event in Sydney.
