“How many dulang hantaran should I give?”
Back in the day, it was almost always an odd number (5, 7, 9, or even 11 dulangs). It was part of the tradition many families followed.
And does the bride have to give 2 dulangs more than the groom?
The answer is yes… and no. ☺️
Today, many couples choose the number of dulangs based on practicality. Some match the number of their bridesmaids and groomsmen, while others simply choose a number that works for their budget and preferences.
“But what if I don’t have bridesmaids or groomsmen?”
That’s perfectly fine too.
Your dulangs don’t have to be carried by anyone. They can be beautifully displayed around your pelamin, becoming part of your wedding styling and creating an elegant setup for your guests to admire.
At the end of the day, there is no one-size-fits-all rule. Every wedding is unique, and your hantaran should reflect what feels right for you and your partner. ✨
