Art of Tessellation Design

Our first SG Culture Pass-eligible session — Art of Tessellation Design — was a great success!

I had the opportunity to share and show participants my original paper tile design, based on origami and inspired by peranakan tiles design. The session followed by their very first hands-on attempt at folding the paper tiles.

It was great fun watching everyone explore the folds, discover the patterns and create their own tessellation pieces. Great fun, great folds, and a wonderful start to the journey into the art of paper tessellation!

October is the world breast cancer awareness month. This is a time for my personal review and reflection. During my master study of Art Therapy 2007-2009, I did my master thesis: Art Therapy as a modality of healing in stages for women with breast cancer. I am so grateful for so many wonderful people supporting my research, especially Dr. Tan YY from KKH and approval from Institution review board. After practicing art therapy for about 15 years, my interest in this area is getting stronger because of evidence in healing, brain health and mental well-being. We will need more clinical research to collect medical evidence for healing through art therapy.
