Throwback to 8 years ago this week when I uploaded my first Japanese Citypop mixtape on Mixcloud. Recently I had the pleasure and privilege to play at MDLR for the 1st time dishing out some awesome Indian club grooves for & wedding party. Such a moving experience to see everyone coming together celebrating in dance & music. Given that it’s also my first playing so many Indian tunes, it kept me entirely on my toes trying to figure out what will work on the crowd. But it was so fun experiencing it together with everyone.

4 years ago today, I played my first gig after Covid restrictions were lifted by the government. But dancing still wasn’t allowed, so the audience were seated down with social distancing applied. Quite a strange experience, but given that there’s work available again, I’m thankful I’m allowed to play music for people again. Those DJs who have lived through that period will certainly be able to relate. What’s your own experience and what did you go through?
