I went to Taiwan expecting to shop for flowers… and came back thinking about flower sourcing completely differently. 😂🌸

In Singapore, I usually import from overseas and shop locally when I need something urgently. Our fresh flower scene is also much more established, so local suppliers naturally cater more towards that.
The prices also made sense for me. Buying from Taiwan was more affordable than importing smaller quantities from Japan, and there was no strict minimum quantity for wholesale purchases.
What I really enjoyed about Taiwan was the range. More colours, sizes, flower varieties, ready-stock Japan-sourced preserved flowers, and a HUGE selection of locally handcrafted sola flowers.
And because several wholesale shops were in one place, I could actually browse everything in person instead of choosing from photos online.
The best part? The suppliers were happy to recommend materials instead of just letting me wander around on my own. 😂
I even exchanged contacts with a few suppliers, so who knows… maybe my next flower sourcing trip will be Taiwan again or I can simply import them soon? 👀🇹🇼
Not saying one is better than the other.
They’re simply different markets, and Taiwan happened to have a lot of things that fit my style of crafting. 🌸
