✨ About Wedding Cake ✨

My wedding was hosted in The Summerhouse so it does not provide any dummy wedding cake unlike hotels!

I always wanted to a beautiful customised wedding cake but it comes a hefty price tag. ): I couldn’t bring myself to justify a $500-$700 customised 2 tiers cake for less than a min of fame. 🥹

Instead, I kept a look out for chio minimalist cake and patiently waited for special promo/discount. 🤭

To personalise the cake, we added ‘Just Married’ banner and top it off with our fav cartoon characters! ☺️

Side note, 2 more days till our first anniversary! 🥳

✨About Wedding Favour Part 2✨

Overall, our guests enjoyed themselves as they got to mingle and pick their fav snacks and many still using the tote bag due to its small yet practical size! It makes me happy whenever I see my colleagues or friends bringing the tote bag out hehe. The tote bag design I had in mind is to be relatable to our wedding yet simple, so that guests will still use it after the wedding. It was inspired by a Japanese art style and then signed it off with the wedding date. Really thankful for my creative friend who can make my imagination comes true! 🥰

However, I overestimated the number of guests who will utilise the Polaroid due to its space constraints and the lack of flow planning as there were two activities happening at the same time- choosing of snacks and taking photos.

Nonetheless, I am proud to say that I managed to keep a budget of around $5 per pax for this wedding favour idea as all the snacks were ordered from wholesale supplier, decorations and tote bags were from taobao! With the leftover films, I managed to sell it via carousell and even provide renting service for my polariod cam. 🤭 Let me know if any of you guys wanna rent the Liplay cam for your events okie!! 🤪

✨About Wedding Favour Part 1✨

This got to be fav part of the entire wedding!!!

Once again, I need to a strike a balance between budget, quality, uniqueness and entertainment value. Therefore, I opted out of the wedding favour that was bundled with my wedding banquet package.

I am so pleased to came up with our own Hannie Snack Store as our wedding favour! Each guest will get their own Hannie small tote bag (specially designed by my very dear friend) after they registered at the reception. After which, they can proceed to the snack store to pick the treats and fill up their tote bag! ☺️

Additionally, the snack store also serve as a photobooth where Polaroid and films were provided for guests to bring back photo memories.

I will elaborate more about the tote bag and overall feedback for this wedding favour idea in my next post. 🫶🏻

✨ About Wedding Guestbook ✨

After attending many weddings, I feel that the hotel wedding guestbook is very under-utilised and usually couple will not look at it again many years down the route.

While it is possible to do without it, I have gap time between my tea ceremony and actual wedding luncheon. Hence, I still want it to serve as an activity for guests to be engaged.

Instead of a typical wedding guestbook, I customised a giant photo frame with our wedding pic in the middle and for our guests to fill up the empty space within the frame! Now, this giant photo-frame is a statement piece in our house so we get to see it everyday. 🥰

Of course, there are many other awesome guest book ideas I had encountered from my couples too. For example, guest polaroid guestbook and also marriage advices to couple in a physical card or google form! ☺️

✨About Wedding Heels✨

I’m particular with my shoes because my feet doesn’t allow me to wear nice pointy design. For my wedding heels, I knew exactly what I wanted- 1) Bold heels for comfort, 2) Open toes for my wide feet, 3) A design that shouts my personality 🤭

However, I didn’t want to spend too much to customise a heels and obviously I can’t afford Jimmy Choo too. 🤣 I searched high and low for alternative solutions and I found .co through XHS! I know it can be risky to customise a heels overseas but it’s difficult to resist the temptation to own a pair of customised heels for less than $120 SGD (included delivery fee).

So I went ahead to hit her up and told her about my dream wedding heels! 😍 Swipe to see the final outcome.

I opted for 0.5 EU size smaller and it fits me well. Wore it throughout my wedding day and it doesn’t give me any blisters. I’m already looking forward to wearing it again on my company’s dnd this year end! 🤭

✨ About Wedding Invitation ✨

I’m the type of person who loves customised/personalised stuff! Basically, I like things to be as unique as possible while keeping budget in mind. Unfortunately… I’m not a creative/artistic person hahaha.

So I commissioned the talented .words to bring my vision of Save The Date and Wedding Invitation’s design to life! And I love it so much! I was inspired by pinterest on the idea of watercolour calligraphy and having my wedding venue design being painted. ☺️

Though e-invites are more environmentally friendly and trending now, I still printed some physical copies for my relatives and friends because 仪式感。🤪Of course, in order to cut cost, I printed them via taobao using actual watercolour papers. 🤭

Tip: Couples can also use canva (free)to design their own wedding invitation too!

If budget is not a concern and you would like to save the hassle of thinking how to design snd where to print it out, I would highly recommended to engage wedding invitation vendors instead for a piece of mind. ☺️

Almost a year till my first wedding anniversary! How time flies! 时光匆匆流逝，我们的身材也一样离去。🤣

As I looked back at my wedding photos and videos, it never fails to give me a warm fuzzy feeling. ☺️

To commemorate the countdown till my wedding anniversary, I will be sharing some wedding tips and experiences that I had been through! Not an expert here and would love to hear good ideas from fellow graduated couples too.
