Sivilian Affairs

Sivilian Affairs Curated by Lilian Hautemulle and Sivanesh Pillai, we throw intimate parties with an emphasis on collaboration, inclusivity and having fun.

Lil and , known to dance floors as Soft Power, first connected on Instagram, but it wasn’t until an in-person encounter at The Champagnery that Lil really got to see her artistry and taste in action. When Soft Power dropped Homero Espinosa’s ‘How Do You Say’ which features Henry Mancini’s iconic sample from ‘Lujon’, Lil became an instant fan.

A gentle force on the dancefloor, Soft Power blends groovy house with jazz-tinted rhythms, weaving progressive and minimal sounds with quiet confidence. She’s drawn to the deeper, more soulful corners of house, shaping her selections to feel warm, fluid, and unhurried which makes her the perfect opener for the Floor this evening.

The Floor opens at 10:30 - come experience Soft Power in all her tender groove.

Taking over after Halia in the Hall, we have Head Honcho under his HeliosXL moniker. A Singapore nightlife OG, our paths have often crossed with Nez; Lil particularly remembers locking into his Revision mixes during COVID as they provided wonderfully crafted sonic journeys during a time when we needed escape. More recently, both Siv & Lil have been blown away by the chemistry of his b2b with Ramesh at Offtrack.

Nez Senja has been a mainstay in Singapore’s nightlife circuit since 2010, while playing one-off DJ sets in Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, Manila, Milan, New York, Kuala Lumpur & Shenzhen. His style oscillates between rocking a club dancefloor and mixing lower-tempo beats for bars, restaurants, brand activations and special events.

The Helios XL alias emerged in 2023, and a more focused sound graced the inaugural Sunda Festival in September, and more recently, Keep Hush Live Singapore in 2024, supported by Carhartt WIP. Under this moniker, you can expect him to fill the Hall with Jungle, Breakbeat, Bass, and Leftfield Techno, offering a different kind of spice to the house music on the Floor.

A long overdue Sivilian Affairs debut for HeliosXL - we are very glad to finally make it happen. Come check him out and see you on the dance floor.

Our first proper encounter with was at Sunda last year. Taking the reins for just after midnight, her eclectic selections were a collection of ear worms, brain ticklers, and feet movers, all woven together in her own unique way.

Then Lil had the pleasure of catching her play b2b with for the inaugural edition of , again Halia moved with intentional grace with curious finesse across their downtempo set.

It was clear in both examples that HALIA is all about sharing the love of music by filling spaces with musical textures. Rooted in her collector’s passion, she selects diverse sounds with groovy rhythms and spicy flavours. As the newest addition to Revision Music, she brings a funky fresh dose of fun to the mix.

We warmly welcome Halia for her Sivilian Affairs debut as she starts off the night in the Hall from 9:30pm onwards.

**Event Update**

Sadly our dear friend Stephen Day is unable to join us this Friday. However this does make way for a very exciting Sivilian Affairs debut - Soft Power.

If you’re unaware of our party this Friday, please read on to hear about a fantastic night of music at Rasa, headlined by Berlin’s Cinthie...

Long before Sivilian Affairs was even an idea, Cinthie was an influence for our founders.

Her tracks, the epitome of house music, made with the influence of classic house but the elements of a fresh modern take, peppered Siv and Lil’s collection.

Her mixes, a heavenly melange of a range of house styles and producers, served as a treasure trove for new gems.

Her labels and record store, a home for artists new and old, still reigns as an inspiration for Siv and Lil.

In short, Cinthie was and still is the pinnacle of house excellence.

So it should come as no surprise that we are delighted to bring this literal legend back for our third time hosting this maestro.

Starting off our night, we warmly welcome Soft Power for her Sivilian Affairs debut. As her moniker suggests, she delivers beautiful but verbose beats with timeless groove.

Following Soft Power, we have one of our favourite duos, Folie à Deux, the combination of Miss Lil and Erin Khan, slinging a range of classic and soulful house selections to open the floor.

For the Hall we wanted to offer something a little different and special. Leaning into the idea of contrasting Hall and Floor, we knew the vast range of the Revision crew would do just the trick. We’ve got head honcho HeliosXL and up-and-comer Halia to keep you on your toes throughout the night.

Cinthie also joins us for a keynote 1-on-1 chat in our new in-person discussion series, Sivilian Salon, which starts at 7:30pm. The talk is free and you can register on the same page at ticket purchase for the club night.

Come down early, party down late. See you on the dance floor.

During the 1800s in Paris, Salons were gatherings of creatives and thinkers where new ideas were discussed. What were then traditional concepts and beliefs were explored and challenged by emerging science and experience. These salons resulted in forward-thinking communities and conversations which continued the evolution of Paris’ arts & culture.

It is with this same spirit that Sivilian Affairs is proud to present the launch of our in-person talk series, Sivilian Salon; a safe space for deep and meaningful discussions.

For our inaugural edition, we are teaming up with AWARE and RASA to explore the theme of driving a unique and diverse music scene in Singapore. To dig into this theme, we’ve split the conversation into 2 parts.

Kicking us off, we have a panel discussion with local DJs who also wear the promoter hat: Aresha (Kings of Bass), Erin Khan (The Champagnery), HBN (Last Saturdays), and KRSTN (Low Endz). This panel serves to be both a combination of solid ‘how to’ advice for new and emerging DJs as well as understanding how these culture leaders approach programming their events.

For our second portion of the Salon, we are very excited for a 1-on-1 sit down with house legend Cinthie. Spanning decades, Cinthie’s experience as a DJ, producer, label head and record store owner has made her one of the most dynamic modern artists in electronic music. During this keynote chat, we will explore her career over time and gain an understanding how diversity has (or has not) played a role in her sustained house music dominance.

AWARE joins us because a diverse music scene needs spaces that feel safe for everyone. Shamima Rafi (Community Engagement) from Singapore’s leading gender equality organisation will share thoughts on creating nights that look after each other and keep the joy alive.

It is a core belief that these conversations need to be accessible and accordingly, it is a free talk to attend. We kindly request you register so we know how many of you to expect.

Bring your thinking caps and we will see you Friday at Rasa 7:30-8:45pm.

Kindly note that if you’d like to join us for the club night with Cinthie, you will need to purchase a ticket.

You hear that? That bright, punchy sound?

We’ve had the pleasure of seeing Cinthie play all over the world, from packed dance floors at Amsterdam Dance Event, to open-air beaches at Fly to the Moon in Thailand, to Singapore’s own bouncy floors. No matter where we catch her, Cinthie delivers a sonic vibrancy few DJs can match.

Come experience the joy yourself, March 27 at Rasa.

Our party kicks off at 9:30, and we’ve got an exciting update about some evening programming coming your way shortly.

Watch this space!

Long before Sivilian Affairs was even an idea, Cinthie was an influence for our founders.

Her tracks, the epitome of house music, draw from the roots of classic house while carrying a fresh, modern edge, and have long peppered Siv and Lil’s collection.

Her mixes, a heavenly melange of house styles and producers, are a treasure trove of new gems waiting to be discovered.

Her labels and record store, a home for artists new and old, have long stood as an inspiration for Siv and Lil.

In short, Cinthie was and still is the pinnacle of house excellence. So it should come as no surprise that we are delighted to bring this literal legend back for the third time.

Complementing her on the floor is none other than Stephen Day, to whom we owe many thanks for connecting us with Cinthie in the first place. A commanding DJ and producer, we couldn’t think of a more perfect artist to get the dance floor going.

Opening before him, we have one of our favourite duos, Folie à Deux, the combination of Miss Lil and Erin Khan, serving up a range of classic and soulful house selections to open the floor.

For the Hall, we wanted to offer something a little different and special. Leaning into the idea of contrasting the Hall and the Floor, we knew the vast range of the Revision crew would do just the trick. We have head honcho HeliosXL and up-and-comer Halia to keep you on your toes throughout the night.

Our previous events with Cinthie have sold out, so we highly recommend snagging your tickets sooner rather than later.

PS: keep your earlier evening plans free. We have a special announcement about some pre-party programming coming soon.

20/02/2026

That’s right, come early, be rewarded. First 15 ticket holders tonight will receive special 🧧 from team Sivilian Affairs. Got your ticket on guest list? No worries, also can.

See you soon!

We heard side of why he loves , now a few words from Miss Lil:

‘For me, the magic of Equation is in its intimacy. Hovering around 1,000 people over 2-3 days, strangers’ faces become familiar. Over 1-2 years, and often sooner, familiar faces have become friends. While both the Garden and Cave can feel expansive, especially given how forward-thinking the music programming is, both stages of the festival offer a closeness among the festival goers. In hosting the Equation takeover, I hope to recreate some of that energy.

Reflective of their foothold in the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian dance scene, Equation has some of the most divine residents. Last year Zwi and TaoFu really captured the festival’s essence in their sets, and I’m beyond excited to see how TaoFu and Di Linh approach their sets for the takeover.

I could go on and on but will leave it with, please we’d love for you to join us for this very special takeover featuring all local and regional talent. Cop a ticket and we will see you at Rasa!‘

Elegant. Understated. Consistent. If one were to distill down EJ Missy, they would easily find these are her perfect descriptors. A veteran DJ who came up at the time of many of our OGs in the scene, she has deftly stayed on the forefront of Singapore’s underground.

As a seasoned professional, one thing we truly love and appreciate about EJ’s performances is her nuanced approach to each and every gig - no 2 are the same and she gives each one due attention. This results in beautifully articulated sets which authentically capture the mood and energy of the night.

Taking over from Miss Lil & 3MZY and carrying the Floor’s arc until Di Linh, we can’t wait to see what EJ has in store for us tomorrow night.

Here’s a flashback of our co-founder playing at sister event .festival in 2024. He shares with us some sentiments about the magic of Mai Chau:

I’ve been returning to Mai Chau for Equation and its sister festival, Retreat, over the past few years, and there is a reason I keep going back.

For me, it is the setting, especially the Garden during the day. That space, and everything surrounding it, carries a quiet magic that is difficult to articulate unless you have stood there yourself. The mornings are cool, sometimes wrapped in low-lying clouds, with mist hovering gently over the landscape. By midday, the light shifts, but the atmosphere remains intimate and immersive. There is a softness to it, and time slows down.

With the number of tickets carefully controlled, there is never a sense of overcrowding. You can move freely, breathe properly, and truly settle into the environment. Then there is the music. Regional and international friends step up to play unhurried, mesmerising sets. Nothing feels rushed or forced. The environment allows the music to breathe, and in turn, the music reshapes the space.

The lake, only a short walk away, is a huge part of it as well. That proximity to water grounds everything. You drift between dancefloor and shoreline, between connection and solitude. It becomes more than a festival. It feels like a temporary world built with intention.

That spirit is exactly why we wanted to bring a slice of that energy to RASA this Friday. Inviting Di Linh and Taofu from Hanoi for our Equation takeover is not just about booking DJs. It is about sharing a feeling we genuinely love.

We warmly welcome back our dearest 3MZY who joins us fresh off the back of her Japan debut!

3MZY’s momentum as of late is undeniable. She’s been gracing the decks at various haunts almost every weekend, honing her sound and elevating her presence. As you can see from this video, audiences are deeply endeared to her as she brings them on otherworldly trips across her musical universe.

3MZY will be going back to back with Miss Lil to open the Floor from 10pm on March 20 for the Equation takeover. If you’re unfamiliar, now is the perfect time to change that.
