This weekend, 29th and 30th July, we will be serving food for the last time at Sandav 1. I am very happy to announce that Utefikat will start serving their menu from 5th August, 12 noon to 5pm on weekends and certain fridays when we are open (11th and 25th August). Welcome!

Välkommen till Utefikat, en food truck i Uppsala med eldmat, kokkaffe och skogsyoga. Med inspiration från Norrbotten och Jämtland, vill vi erbjuda Uppsalabor upplevelser i det vilda.

Sun shining, bird singing, it is spring! Soon we will meet again at Sandav 1 in Uppsala. This year, the tea house will be serving lunch and fika until midsummer weekend. When we reopen on 29th July, Utefika will be taking over the catering with their yummy outdoor cooking and coffee! Spring rain..what we have longed for so summer will be adorned with flowers and abound with butterflies! That is what happens too in the garden by Lake Ekoln at Sandav 1 and 3. Our season starts saturday 21st May at 12noon. Welcome back for a relaxed afternoon with light lunches, tea and coffee with cakes or simply enjoy a warm waffle with fruits and ice-cream. Kultur vid Ekoln will host 4 different art exhibits and 2 electro-acoustic garden concerts. See you soon.

Today I launch a new vegan Bao (with garlic).limited edition :-) I have been trying to reproduce a flavour my late mum made almost half a century ago..getting close..her's was very spicy so I made these milder...And the sunday impulse is to serve "Pink Joy" choco muffkie baked with fresh raspberries. Welcome ! Take home if you can't stay...

Sveriges national dag ! Jag har rest mycket i yngre dagar och bott i Nya Zeeland, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Syd Korea och till sist hamnade i Sverige för 20 år sedan. Det är jag mycket tacksamt för. Natur och kultur mångfald, intelligenta, generösa och vänliga grannar och främmande som jag möter hela tiden. Vid Ekolns strand möter jag de varje sommar helg! Öppet mellan kl 13 till 17.

Spring is here! Soon we will meet again in the apple garden by the Lake Ekoln in Uppsala. We will open for the season at 1 pm on 15th May. We look forward very much to meet you again, listen to great acoustic concerts and watch ballet performances as well as appreciate the art and photo exhibitions. Our menu will continue to be asian-inspired home-made breads, noodles and waffles, to savour with exclusive teas from In the Mood for Tea. Special "impulse of the week" bakery to look forward too as well. In the meantime, Happy Easter holidays and see you soon! Dear guests. We will be open for a final weekend for the season on 26th and 27th september. Lunch available on saturday but on sunday only sweet cakes and beverages for the cultural finnisage. Our summer student waiters, Amra, Malva, Jeremy and Anusha have done well and we have learnt a lot and enjoyed making "tea and rotis" for you in the lakeside garden. We hope to get the chance to say goodbye to you this weekend and perhaps we will meet again next summer and share new culinary and cultural experiences in the dream of a teahouse by lake Ekoln! Food I like, and meeting new and old friends with shared interest in culture... that is why I spend most of my leisure time cooking and experimenting with recipes for the lakeside teahouse at Sandav 1 in Uppsala. Last sunday, it hailed immediately after Siddhi J Sundt and Lars Björklund completed their last song. Helene Joelsson captured this nicely in the video- everyone did not just run for cover but they instinctively rescued the sound equipment and furniture from the onslaught of ice beads! My son used to have some favourite phrases when he was about 5, one of them was 'pumpkin pea strawberry pie'..which I never made and he never tasted. Perhaps it will awaken the fun memories of your favourite childhood phrases too this weekend when you taste the new baked pumpkin pea spiral curry puffs served with fresh strawberry chilli sauce. I think if one could taste a rainbow, it may just taste the same because I feel very extra cheerful tasting the puffs!

This weekend 8th and 9th August, Kee's mee will be available not just on sunday but also on saturday. With mushroom curry sauce and sesame-flavoured green cabbage. No soya sauce in any of our dishes but served separately, spiced with fresh red chillies in a lime/honey sauce. Will be another weekend with fine music- Siddhi J Sundt at 3pm on saturday with his quiet humour on 6 and 10-stringed guitars. Then on sunday, at 4 p.m., perhaps come eaves-drop on newly written songs by students of the song-writing course with Eva Hillered. Most welcome. By the way, when was the last time you had waffles/ice cream with fruit salad in an apple garden by the lake :-) ?

It will be a warm weekend it seems. 1st and 2nd August, so I decided we will serve indian tonic drinks without the gin..but with cheeries or red/white currants on ice. Or try our White tea based strawberry mint on ice...Welcome!
