The weather is not summery at all... but we managed to test the Strider's cloak in natural conditions ^__^
We needed to take a photo of the set for the customer before sending it, so we went to shoot right in the rain.
Of course, the wax mix impregnation is not designed for a downpour, but it protects perfectly from nasty drizzle ^_^

One of the less obvious difficulties of our work is shooting looks with our products.
We always want to show our work in the atmosphere of the universe in which it was created. But since we ourselves are not professional cosplayers, our props are not that extensive. Almost all the things that we have ever published here have already found their owners ^_^
To choose a costume for the Choir hat, we had to rummage through the Workshop's bins. We found a draft of a pirate shirt that we sewed a long time ago, an experimental leather cape and a scarf that we use for photos of Lady Maria... we added accents in the form of a vintage watch and cufflinks and the cleric's look is ready!

P.S. And a little life hack - a flower instead of a mask^_^

This was one of our most difficult shoots...
We had to manage to shoot the full costume for the portfolio before shipping, it had to reach the customer by the wedding (in the end, everything worked out!).
So before the shoot, we spent the whole night finishing the props: belt, to***co pouch and leather gaiters, and left for the location at about 6 am.
Without additional light, it is quite difficult to shoot in the forest... and by the end of our adventures, mosquitoes almost ate us ^___^
But the result was definitely worth it - we got a real elven forest!

There are no insignificant details...
In working with replicas, that's certainly true ^__^ One of our long-time subscribers asked us to help create a small but important accessory - a leather overlay for chainmail.
Aragorn wears this chainmail during the battle at Helm's Deep, and it, along with the red shirt, connects his history with Rohan...just like Boromir's bracers connect him with Gondor.
And although this element of the costume is quite small, we had to tinker with it quite a bit.
Firstly, the shape. There are only a few screencaps of reference for this detail... Nevertheless, they clearly show that the detail is one-piece (without a seam in the middle). The customer prepared the chainmail for this look himself, so he asked us to make folds in the slits for easy attachment to the chainmail. We thought for a long time about whether it was possible to do this at all, because if you cut the overlay from a rectangle, then there would be nothing to wrap in the slots... But after some time... and a number of samples, we finally managed to "feel" the right approach. And with the help of wet molding, we achieved the desired shape (and yes, in the references it is curved in an arc at the bottom).
Secondly, the pattern. It was not easy to see these mini-horses, it was even more difficult to understand that there are eight of them, not six, but it seems we did a decent job ^__^
In the near future, the overlay will be sent and we will eagerly await the photo with the chainmail.

Usually we try to decide on all the technical details of the project before starting work...
But this is ideal...and in practice, sometimes "unexpected turns" occur right in the process of work. Well, if the project is new, the probability of this tends to 100%.
With this hat, it is generally easier to say that it went according to the original plan than vice versa (well, except that the choice of material was not subject to change). As a result, it turned from an ordinary order into a challenge for our Workshop.
And so, when almost all the main work was already finished, the question arose again, how we would make the edging. Again, because at the design stage we wanted to make an embossed edging with wire inside, but already in the process of working on the brim, we realized that this was not the best idea. An edging made of the same material would be too thick, with thinning it would not be possible to maintain a clear embossing, and the wire would create additional difficulties when assembling such a complex shape. Have you ever had a situation where you put so much work into a project that you just want to get rid of it as soon as possible? It has happened to us... but since there are two of us, we take turns not letting each other cut corners ^__^
We had to come up with a plan B... as a result, we completely revised our view on the edge design. We decided to replace the embossing with a less cumbersome dyeing with a reserve. For this we had to draw 424 even stripes for two hours.

But now the hat is finally finished and is waiting for a photo shoot before shipping!

A new stage in working with the Choir hat - we do dyeing with a reserve. As a result, the pattern will not shine, but now these textures look amazing *^_^*

Five days of tedious (crazy 🙃) embossing and the Choir hat is ready for dyeing!
The pattern is pure Bloodborne madness... we'll still have to tinker with the reserved dyeing, but already now all these "squiggles" look impressive. As they say, find 10 differences ^____^

We have some "artifacts" in our Workshop that have been stored almost since its foundation... We don't sell them, but use them only as props for our photosets. For example, this archery glove, a reenactment of 15th century Europe, was sewn back in 2010. And the witcher's bag from 2011, with a real shell, is one of the first replicas for the game... It's amazing how 15 years later they still fit perfectly into our new looks. We've been wanting to show you these green quilted bracers for a long time, but we couldn't put together a costume for the photo from what we had in stock. And then we suddenly remembered that our "Merigold" hood is double-sided and has a very beautiful dark emerald cotton inside. This time, the bright red linen turned out to be the lining and the picture immediately came together... The bag and glove became excellent accents ^___^
And the bracers themselves are sewn in such a way that they can be worn as leather or fabric... By the way, this is especially appropriate if your character changes during the LARP. After all, it is the details that make the character more alive!

This pouch, sewn in a deliberately rough style, will perfectly complement the look of a Chaos warrior (swipe for video).

Judging by the rough stitching, the mark of chaos and suspicious leather, this bag was sewn by some skilled chaosite. Perhaps even from some inhabitant of the border villages...

The cuts are not through - imitation seams are made with the help of carving and embossing. This allows the pouch to hold its shape better. The bag is hand-stitched with woven waxed thread. The leather is additionally textured, tinted and covered with a mixture of waxes.

Sizes: width 14.5 cm, height 13.5 cm, side wall depth 3.5 cm.
Belt loops up to 6 cm.
