Some choose style over function, others choose function over style, but everyone knows the best builds have both.

Robi and his E36 have taken the local style game up a notch with a carefully selected combination of parts. To us, it’s almost funny that this very same drift car, which we watched wall-tapping at Spring Bash back in April with its signature clear tail lights, is also welcomed at static shows alongside dedicated show cars.

That’s what grassroots drifting is all about: the perfect balance between looking good in motion and standing out while parked.

Was it the mici or the purple M3? Turns out Alec enjoyed his time in Romania at Saisho last year, because he’s coming back for another round this year!

Starting in 2018 with a Canon 700D, a kit lens, and a dream, Alec found his way onto I Am The Speedhunter, covering his first trip to Japan.

Since then, Alec’s photography and videography have expanded across numerous international publications, collaborating with brands, shops, and manufacturers around the world, including Liberty Walk, RWB, Gunther Werks, Caterham, Type 7, and Lewis Hamilton.

Based in Japan, but often found elsewhere, Alec has a soft spot for Japan’s golden era of JDM cars, particularly the AE86, while continuing to chase automotive history and stories across Europe, Asia, and America.

Alec will also be part of our judging panel, so stay tuned! And don’t forget: tickets and signups are now live for a limited time.

SPRING BASH was above expectations, this time in a much more drift-oriented format, fogless mornings, extended daylight and a little over 18 hours of pure, actual seat time in 2 days on 2 separate layouts.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, drove, and bought some merch - and most importantly: HAD FUN, because that’s what drifting is truly about.

The BANKED X SAISHO CROWD INVITE PROGRAM was a massive success - over 700 people voted for their favorite cars that will be selected for our main event, SAISHO, this summer.

Meanwhile, our fully in-house-made documentary, “DONUTS AIN’T DRIFTING”, about the local grassroots drift scene, which was shot during SPRING BASH, is slowly taking shape.

However, up next there is an event that is even more important than Saisho: the 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY of Table Japoneze - so stay tuned for more details, you don’t want to miss that.
