The results of the "Dumitru Capoianu" Competition, VI Category are in!

We are proud to announce that the Winner of the 23rd edition of Transilvania International Guitar Festival is young guitarist Samuel Duciuc!

Samuel’s prize consists of a guitar worth 5000 euro, specially crafted for this event by luthier Slavko Mrdalj, and the Artistic Trophy designed by the renowned sculptor Ovidiu Guleș. Additionally, he is invited to perform in a recital at TIGF 2026!

The prizes of the "Dumitru Capoianu" Competition, VI Category, are:

🎸 This evening at 18:30, the Transilvania International Guitar Festival continues with its fourth concert. We’ll listen to four gifted musicians from Bulgaria, Romania, and Cuba, each offering their own interpretation and heartfelt expression through classical guitar. 🎶

🎸 Katerina Vachkova (Bulgaria)
Born in 2008, Katerina is a gifted young guitarist and composer studying at the National School of Arts “Panayot Pipkov” in Pleven. Her talent has been recognized at prestigious competitions across Europe, including Italy, Bulgaria, and Romania. Beyond her impressive performance skills, Katerina’s original compositions have earned her special awards, and her role as concertmaster of the Pleven Guitar Ensemble highlights her leadership and musical sensitivity.

🎸 Adrian Bălan (Romania)
A rapidly emerging talent, Adrian began his classical guitar studies in 2022 at the “Hariclea Darclée” High School of Arts in Brăila. Despite his short time on the stage, he has already won multiple national competitions and gained valuable experience through masterclasses with renowned guitarists. Adrian’s musical journey reflects dedication and an impressive artistic maturity beyond his years.

🎸 Andrei Pițu (Romania)
A graduate of the “Ștefan Luchian” High School in Botoșani and currently studying at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf, Andrei is one of the most promising guitarists of his generation. With over sixty national and international competition placements, including four consecutive first prizes at TIGF, he continues to captivate audiences with his profound interpretations and commitment to promoting Romanian classical music worldwide.

🎸 Joaquín Clerch (Cuba)
Closing the festival is Joaquín Clerch, an artist of global renown. Born in Havana, he studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and has won major international competitions such as the Andrés Segovia and the ARD in Munich. Renowned for his technical mastery, poetic playing, and deep intellectual approach to music, Joaquín has performed worldwide and is a respected professor and composer.

🎸 Guitar Recital – August 29, 2025 🎶
We invite you tonight, August 29, at 18:30, to enjoy the third concert of the festival — an evening shaped by talent, dedication, and the timeless beauty of the classical guitar. Four artists from Romania and Belgium will share the stage, each with a distinctive voice and artistic journey.
🎸 Irina Erdei – Romania 🇷🇴
Irina began studying guitar in 2020 at the “Tudor Jarda” Popular Art School in Cluj-Napoca. Guided by Andras Moldovan, Mădălin Nedelcu, and later Ștefan Trifan, she quickly stood out for her musicality and focus. Her achievements include 1st Prizes at the Sighetu Marmației International Competition, the Rust International Guitar Competition (Austria), the Harmonia Cordis Youth Guitar Competition, and the Transilvania Youth Guitar Competition.
🎸 David Tudor – Romania 🇷🇴
At 14, David has already been awarded in numerous international competitions, including 1st Prizes in Parma (Italy), Cluj-Napoca, Szeged (Hungary), and the National Music Olympiad in 2023 and 2024. He began his studies at age 4 with his father, Dragoș Tudor, and continues to learn under his guidance, as well as with Stan Zamfirescu. In 2024, he appeared on national television in „Romania’s got Talent”.
🎸 Gabriel-Bogdan Ștefan – Romania 🇷🇴
A student at the “Dimitrie Cuclin” Arts High School in Galați, Gabriel-Bogdan studies with Gabriel Bulancea. He has been awarded in competitions such as the “Margareta Sterian” Regional Competition, the Rust International Competition, and the National Music Olympiad. His training has been guided by Silviu Cârlescu, Gabriel Bulancea, and Ștefan Trifan, and enriched through masterclasses with Romanian and international teachers.
🎸 Raphaella Smits – Belgium 🇧🇪
Internationally respected for her interpretations on eight-string guitars and historical instruments, Raphaella has performed worldwide and recorded 25 albums. A laureate of the Francisco Tárrega Competition in Benicàssim, she also taught for over 35 years at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. Her artistic path was shaped by studies with José Tomás and early recognition from Andrés Segovia and Narciso Yepes.

Join us tonight, August 28, at 18:30 for an unforgettable evening celebrating artistry and passion on the classical guitar stage! 🌟 Six talented musicians from Romania, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia will bring to life a rich and expressive program.

🎸 Diana Dindeal – Romania 🇷🇴
At only 15, Diana has already earned top prizes in major competitions including the Transilvania Youth Guitar Competition and Guitar United Sarajevo. Guided by Ștefan Trifan, she continues to impress with her musical sensitivity and dedication.

🎸 Mihail Onceanu – Republic of Moldova 🇲🇩
Currently in his final year at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music, Mihail has collaborated with the Transylvania State Philharmonic and has been awarded in numerous national and regional contests since his early studies in Moldova.

🎸 Alexandru Mihai Peștina – Romania 🇷🇴
A passionate performer and teacher, Alexandru refined his craft in Cluj and now inspires young musicians at the “Tudor Jarda” High School of Music in Bistrița. He is also a regular participant at the Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Festival.

🎸 Rudolf Forgács – Romania 🇷🇴
Finalist at the Transilvania Youth Guitar Competition and a frequent performer at Harmonia Cordis, Rudolf is currently studying in Cluj, where he continues to develop his expressive technique and artistic identity.

🎸 Belmin Okanovic – Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦
An acclaimed soloist and competition winner, Belmin performs regularly across Europe. A recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium and a Yehudi Menuhin Foundation soloist, he is currently continuing his Master’s studies in Düsseldorf under Prof. Joaquín Clerch.

🎸 Ema Kapor – Serbia 🇷🇸
With over 40 prizes, including first place at José Tomás Villa de Petrer and Forum Gitarre Wien, Ema is known for her expressive depth and technical brilliance. She performs worldwide both as a soloist and as part of distinguished chamber ensembles.
