This Saturday we’ve invited Cătalin Ilie, a music digger for more than a dozen years, who’ll spin a varied set of records, some of which he discovered on his many travels 🌎

Cătălin got into electronic music attending different events and parties in his teens, 20 years ago, while also discovering plenty of new sounds from various sub-genres online at home.

In 2007 he created yURy’s Musical Blog, an aggregator of electronic music events in Bucharest for both well known clubs, and also smaller venues across town, a useful tool for partygoers at that time.

Nowadays, he is an avid music listener - even during his 9 to 5 corporate job, an occasional dj, constantly searching for great sounds and an explorer of the nightlife culture in different places around the world.

Expect soothing, groovy and tropical vibes.

This Saturday we’re excited to have Andrei Raicu djing on the terrace - a prolific director, composer and sound designer bridging theatre, new media and music 🌿

Andrei Raicu (b. 1988, Bucharest, Romania) is a theater director, sound designer, and composer. He studied Theater Directing at the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest and has composed soundtracks for over 50 theater productions across
Romania.

Passionate about the intersection of art and technology, he researches and develops interactive technologies for media and performing arts, working extensively with new
media platforms such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).

He was part of the team that developed Cyber-Body-Systems, a project exploring the translation of EEG (electroencephalographic) signals into sound and visuals. Presented at JKU Linz and CNDB Bucharest, the project investigates the relationship between brain activity, perception, and performance through real-time biofeedback and immersive media.
He is the sound designer and composer for Queerdos, an independent performance collective based in Berlin. Together, they have created works for Maxim Gorki Theater, Volksbühne Berlin, Kino Šiška Ljubljana, Arge Kultur Salzburg, and held workshops in
various cities across Europe.

As a performer, he has appeared live at numerous music festivals including InContext (Slănic Moldova), Simultan Festival, Amural, Sabotage, Outernational Days, and the Artist Play with Time series.

Recently, his focus has shifted toward improvised music. He is a member of Al-Ehtifal Project, a fluid ensemble of musicians who challenge conventional musical forms and
norms through collective improvisation.

Born and raised in Bucharest, Mihai draws inspiration from the city’s deep-rooted underground scene. Two weeks have flown since we SPLASHHH into this personal geographies of summer by Medina Pop.

We’ve just wrapped up our third exhibition, created with the intention of being a gentle refreshment amidst the scorching summer days in the city.

Whether you’re easing back into routine or still dreaming of future escapes, we invite you to immerse yourself in this exhibition, which offers a fresh perspective on your summer landscape.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to all who visited and shared this journey with us.

The exhibition is on view until August 30, during our open hours.

This Saturday we’re joined by one of the finest selectors and music producers, whose records have been flying in dj bags all over the world 🌊🍸

Vlad Matei has been DJing and releasing records under the name ‘Eirwud Mudwasser’. Over the years, he has hosted radio shows and contributed with guest mixes for international platforms, from clothing brands to numerous global radio stations. He is currently curating the music at Bar Ton in Bucharest.

You can visit our new expo SPLASHHH in this 1st week until Sunday, when Sinkronize will be taking over the decks 🌊☀️

With over two decades behind the decks, Horia Baldea is a dedicated selector with a deep connection to music. He began mixing in 2003, playing breakbeat sets on CDs and vinyl, and gradually shifted toward electro, house, and techno.

His style has been shaped by artists like James Lavelle, Axel Boman, Laurent Garnier, Matias Aguayo, Sasha Funke, Move D, Koze, Tiga, and Henrik Schwarz. The result is a groove-driven, sometimes funky, always thoughtful selection, with sets that balance percussive drive and melodic nuance

These days, Horia juggles life as a dad and an audio producer—working on podcasts, recording voices both on set and in the studio, and handling mixing and sound design. DJing isn’t a full-time gig anymore, but he’s always happy to get behind the decks and share the music he loves, whether it’s a club night, a festival, or a spontaneous set among friends.

He continues to explore sound through a growing modular synth setup, keeping things fresh and playful—always guided by curiosity and an evergrowing love for music.

Selecția de muzică va fi inspirat făcută de Vlad Nancă.

Avem plăcerea de a vă invita Joi, 10 Iulie, începând cu orele 19:00, la deschiderea expoziției 𝗦𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗛𝗛𝗛 curatoriată de 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝗽 si comisionată de 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧.

SPLASHHH posedă spațiul și îl convertește într-un teritoriu tranzitoriu, oferit pe tavă capriciilor Verii.

Tratat ca o cutie cu memorii, stări, note de subsol, suveniruri, nostalgii și revelații efemere, dar și ca arhivă de interpretări artistice și explorări tematice, SPLASHHH evocă ritualurile, libertățile și absurditățile verii, ca loc al dorinței universale, al spectacolului natural-regizat, al unei utopii temporare.

Este o interogație recreativă asupra a ceea ce reprezintă timpul cald și perisabil, dincolo de sezonalitate - performativitatea obiectelor de plajă, politica corpurilor expuse și privite, anxietatea număratului de zile și a tot ceea ce se estompează, în cele din urmă, stranietatea personalității de vară, care prinde contur, apoi se autodistruge, și playlist-urile care se repetă în buclă, până la limita iraționalului.

Nu este oare acest spectacol tandru? O regresie colectivă alimentată de joc, infantilism, inacțiune, insațietate, plictis și plescăială.

Apoi ne amintim, sau credem că ne amintim, o fericire care poate nu a existat cu adevărat niciodată. Și probabil că aceasta este adevărata ficțiune a verii, care chestionează, nu dacă s-aîntâmplat, ci dacă a fost vreodată naturală.
