Today at ISCM World New Music Days 2026, New Europe College hosted the musicological conference “György Kurtág and Anatol Vieru – 100”, a day of dialogue and reflection dedicated to two defining voices of 20th-century music.

Researchers, composers, performers, and musicologists from Romania and abroad explored the artistic worlds of György Kurtág and Anatol Vieru through lectures focused on compositional language, memory, musical structures, and the broader cultural contexts that shaped their work.

It was a meeting of ideas, perspectives, and generations around the living legacy of contemporary music.
