There are artists who make music. And then there are artists who create emotional universes where we get lost… and find ourselves again.
For me, Jan Blomqvist is exactly that: a portal.
The first time I immersed myself in his sound, I felt something different. It wasn’t just melodic techno. It wasn’t just emotional electronic music. It was truth. It was vulnerability transformed into sound. The way he blends his raw voice with deep synthesizers and hypnotic beats creates an atmosphere that you don’t just hear with your ears — you feel it in your chest.
Jan makes me cry. But it’s a clean, liberating kind of cry.
He makes me smile with that feeling of “everything is unfolding exactly as it should.”
And above all, he makes me travel.
I travel through my memories — the long nights, the difficult decisions, the silent victories that only I know the true weight of. His melodies awaken memories that were stored away, almost asleep. Every breakdown feels like opening a drawer from the past. Every build-up feels like accepting who I was in order to become who I am.
But it’s not only about the past.
Jan’s music also takes me forward. Into the future.
When I close my eyes, I see stages, lights, crowds feeling the same vibration. I see evolution. I see growth. I see the path. It’s as if his music whispers: keep going. Don’t stop. The journey is yours.
And within that journey, there is a moment I carry with special pride: seeing a remix created by the Portuguese artist Xinobi.
For me, that holds deep meaning. Xinobi represents talent, identity, and authentic Portuguese expression within the global electronic scene. Seeing that crossing — that bridge between sonic worlds — is feeling that music has no borders. It’s realizing that Portugal is also there, leaving its mark on an artist who inspires so many people around the world.
There is something incredibly powerful when two worlds meet through art. It feels like culture, emotion, and vision merging into a single moment.
Jan Blomqvist is not just a musical reference for me.
He is an emotional mirror.
He is memory and ambition.
He is tears and smiles.
He is past and future.
And every time one of his songs begins, I know I won’t just listen… I will feel. I will live. I will continue writing my own journey.
