Why should you have a beautiful welcome party?!

Because it is the perfect time to be Yourself, with no tight schedules, no running all over the place but loads of quality time with your guests!

A Welcome party is the perfect opportunity for your two families and friends to spend time together before the wedding day in a slightly less hectic setting.
Take advantage of the relaxed environment, to take the time to introduce people to each other and spend quality time together. During the wedding day, you will most likely be pulled in too many directions and before you know it, the day is gone and you didn't have the time to speak to everyone that has taken the time to come to your wedding. Today, we want to give you little tips to keep children calm and happy during the welcome party event.

We do know that if we don't keep them occupied, they get easily bored, which can turn the happy experience to a challenge for the parents.

Let's look into things that can be done to make them feel important and busy at the same time ;)

Little children in pretty dresses and tiny tuxedos are so cute !! Let's take the opportunity of the glamorous dressing to make the feel helpful! Depending on their age, level of responsibility and of course their will, they can:

- Ask guests to sign pages in the scrapbook
- Hand out programs or give directions to the reception
- Greet guests
- Hand out flowers or hand out give-away favours to guests
- Help to take care of gifts or envelopes during the reception
- Take candid pictures of the family and the party
- Follow the photographer around, pointing out special people to the photographer
- Play a musical instrument or solo
- Carry flowers
- Help guests find their seating arrangements
- Help serve the cake

The Swiss Army Knife of Weddings: Your Maid of Honor.

Your Maid/Matron of Honor is the person that holds one of the biggest roles during your wedding. One of them being the keeper of the bride's emergency kit. What is that ?!

Well, to prevent any "unfortunate traumatic situation", we recommend that you create a “wedding first aid kit” and keep it handy (somewhere on the Maid of Honor) throughout the entire day.

Hereunder, you will find a quick list of things that can seem unnecessary but, you will be sooooo happy when you realize that it can really save the day!
- Duct tape…trust us, just bring it.
- Sewing kit with white and all the colours of the bride and the bride's maid’s dresses
- Bobby pins and hair ties
- Brush, comb, and hairspray
- Tide to Go pen (stain remover)
- Entire first aid kit including bandages, blister prevention, and pain relievers
- Dental floss
- Button up shirt for anyone (mainly the bride) to wear on the top of the dress for makeup application and hair styling
- White flat shoes (if the bride twists an ankle right before the procession, she can’t wear heels and for sure should not appear barefoot!)
- Money in cash
- Giant golf umbrella - unless you are 100% absolutely certain of the sunny weather
- Granola bars, fruit snacks, little juice boxes and straws (we want to make sure the bride eats and drinks enough without ruining her make-up)
- Feminine hygiene products

Things that you should have in mind before hiring a photographer for your special days:

- Photographers have all different in styles. Make sure to do a research first by requesting or checking out their portfolios online before hiring;

- The photographer is not your wedding planner - The point here is, don’t try to micromanage his work during D-day. However, don’t be shy to tell him/her what kind of pictures you would like to make sure that he takes as, in the end, it is your photo album and memories you want to capture. You can also check on Pinterest some shots and ideas to give him/her instead of expecting him or her to read your mind;

- The wedding photographer should be respected - Don't ignore the wedding photographer’s schedule, don't forget to make sure that as a member of your staff, he is also fed. If you wish, you can even decide to plan a seat for them at both the ceremony and reception as they will not be in a different room while things are happening without being captured;

- Trust the photographers when they talk about the lightning, special effects and other photography details. If you want amazing pictures, schedule the most appropriate time for the ceremony and the reception, particularly if you wish for an outdoor wedding. It will make an entire difference in the quality of the pictures. Unless your aim is to have all of your pictures retouched with photoshop effects!

- Relax, Breathe, and Have Fun - the photographer won't do miracles as he can not put a beautiful smile in your face. Enjoy your party and have fun. Forget that the photographer is there and enjoy your day. You will discover that the pictures will be amazingly beautiful, genuine and will reflect the joy of the day.
