all over the Algarve. Does your party have a special theme? Let me know beforehand so I can adapt the designs. I only use professional water-based face paints and cosmetic grade glitter which are fully compliant with EU and FDA cosmetic regulations and specifically for use on the face and skin. - What are the costs? I charge 75 euros (plus travel costs outside the Moncarapacho region) for two hours or 100 euros for three hours of face painting and glitter tattoos. I'll bring all the materials and just need a table and two chairs, preferably indoors or in the shade.
- Are there any kids you won't paint? Yes, I won't paint any kids that are under the age of two. Two-year-olds who are almost three can have a small design on their hand or, if they really want, on their face, well away from the eyes/mouth. Kids aged 3 and upwards can be painted, as long as they don't have any broken skin, rashes, wounds, allergies to face paint (when in doubt, ask for a small patch test), illnesses, etc.
- My kid doesn't want to be painted but I really want her to be painted. Will you paint her? I won't paint any kid who doesn't want to be painted or is crying. I'll happily paint the mum/dad though!
- How can we remove the face paint? To remove the face paint, use warm soapy water, coconut oil or baby wipes. Don’t keep it on overnight. When removing glitter, take care that it doesn’t come in the eyes.
- I've removed most of the face paint but it still see some colour, help? That's completely normal. Some colours (especially the greens) leave a slight hue that will completely disappear after a few washes / a shower / a more thorough rub.
- My kid wants a butterfly on his face but I want him to be Batman. Can you paint a Batman mask? I can indeed paint a Batman mask and will happily paint it on the parent's face. However, if your kid wants a butterfly, then that's what he'll get!
- How many faces can you paint per hour? That completely depends on the kid (eg how fast they choose & how still they sit) and the design (a full face tiger takes more time than a small rainbow on the cheek). Ten children per hour is a good guesstimate. If you have an event with loads of kids, I can of course offer only a selection of simpler designs to make it work within time limits.
- Do you also paint adults? Yes, I do! I have some really funky eye designs that look great on adults. Of course, if you prefer I'll also paint pirates and unicorns :).
- Do you also offer glitter tattoos? I have a big selection of glitter tattoo designs. These tattoo stay on the skin for about 3 to 7 days, depending on your skin type and how you take care of it. (It stays on longer on dry skin). You can shower and swim with them! To remove, just rub with some baby oil.
