It’s my second time in this beautiful island, and I’m really looking forward to experiencing that energy, surrounded by mountains and Atlantic Ocean 🌊

Madeira is an archipelago situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, in the region of Macaronesia, just under 400 kilometres (250 mi) north of the Canary Islands, Spain, 520 kilometres (320 mi) west of Morocco and 805 kilometres (500 mi) southwest of mainland Portugal. Madeira generally has a mild/moderate subtropical climate with Mediterranean summer. Many microclimates are found at different elevations. I love to discover and explore this place 💜

Thoughts #2 💭

We spend so much of our lives trying to understand who we are, where we belong, and finding people who somehow feel like “us”.

Maybe that’s also why we look for the dancefloor.

But there’s a contradiction here that I find beautiful.

We go there looking for belonging, yet for a few hours we might experience something else: the possibility of being among others without needing to define ourselves so much.

We are still different. We carry different bodies, histories, identities, privileges, fears. The dancefloor doesn’t erase any of that.

And still, sometimes, something shifts.

For a moment, belonging seems to require less explanation. Less performance. Less certainty about who we are.

Maybe part of the freedom of dancing together lives exactly there.

We keep talking about the loneliness epidemic.

At the same time, we keep allowing the spaces that bring people together to disappear.

Clubs are not just businesses.
They are cultural infrastructure.
They are places where communities are built, identities are explored and strangers become less alone.

If we want healthier cities, we need to stop treating dancefloors as disposable.

That’s why they matter.

Welcome to my chaoooootic Living Room 💜

A few days ago, it looked less like a home and more like a warehouse 😎

Flight cases. Cables. Speaker stands. Eight Meyer Sound MM-4XP loudspeakers. A GALAXY processor. Two subwoofers (although, for the sake of my neighbours, only one made it into the setup).

Hours of unpacking, assembling, wiring, troubleshooting… and hoping everything would finally come together.

Then came the moment I had been waiting for.

I connected my XDJ-700s to the Xone:23C, sent the signal into the GALAXY, pressed play…

…and suddenly, my living room became an 8.1 spatial audio studio 😱😱😱

It’s about creating a space where I can research, experiment and develop new ways of performing electronic music through spatial sound.

It’s a f€&@“?! YEEEEES 🥰😍

Later maybe I’ll adventure on the LIVE ACT SPATIAL AUDIO SETUP 🚀

Vienna 🎡

A few years ago, this city was home. It was where I spent my Erasmus, where I grew, questioned myself, and collected memories that still shape who I am today.

Every time I come back, it feels less like travelling and more like reconnecting. With streets that still feel familiar, with people I’m incredibly lucky to call family [the family we choose] and with a city that continues to inspire me in different ways.

This visit, I found myself wandering through the Leopold Museum, moving between centuries of artistic expression. Standing in front of works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and other pioneers of the Viennese avant-garde reminded me that every artistic revolution begins with curiosity, courage and a willingness to see the world differently.

Museums have become an essential part of the way I travel. They remind me that art is a conversation across generations, and that every discipline; painting, music, architecture or performance, can expand the way we think and create.

I left Vienna feeling creatively nourished once again.

On August 7th, I’ll be joining a very special panel at ZMW to discuss something I deeply believe in: the power of community to transform the music scene.

As a DJ, artist, researcher, and co-founder of female:pressure Portugal and FRESCA , I’ve seen firsthand that representation alone is not enough. Visibility matters, but real change also requires access, knowledge-sharing, mentoring, opportunities, and networks that allow people not only to enter the room, but to stay, grow, and eventually have the power to redesign it.

The panel “The power of community: how independent movements and non-profit collectives contribute to gender parity in the music scene” will bring together different perspectives on how grassroots initiatives can create change where traditional structures often fall short.
