Why Portugal? 🌍 "Portugal is one of the most appealing destinations for expats thanks to its stunning weather and easy-going lifestyle," shared the GBN news channel last month.

Many expats choose the sunny Algarve, which is also a great place to meet others in a similar situation. The Algarve region has a growing expat community spread across the entire area – from the eastern side to the more surf-friendly West Coast 🌊 – making it easy to connect with like-minded people.

As Terry Coles and her husband shared with GBN News: "The Portuguese are some of the warmest and most welcoming people we have ever met. My husband and I have travelled to much of Europe, and you can't say the same about every country."

Another highlight from the couple is the widespread use of English in Portugal: "English is really widely spoken here, but that’s not to say you shouldn’t learn the language – we do speak Portuguese."

🥗 It’s also really easy to stay healthy in Portugal, thanks to the Mediterranean diet – from restaurants to supermarkets with ready-made food – so it’s easy to eat and stay healthy here.
