✨ Wrapping up : Day 3 in Madeira was marked by the Closing Ceremony and Best Paper Award, along with the recognition of the Best Poster Award winners [📌 Beatriz Gullón | Manuela Machado | Nádia Valério]. 🎓🤝

The program also included a networking coffee break and a guided visit to the Solid Waste Treatment Facility (ETRS) at Meia Serra, showcasing real-world applications of sustainable waste management. ♻️🌍

✨ Three weeks after , we revisit Day 2 in Madeira.
Highlights included thought-provoking Plenary Sessions on growth within limits (Pablo Kroff) and advancing tools to monitor marine litter pollution (João Monteiro). 🌍🌊

The day ended with a memorable visit to Cabo Girão and a taste of Madeira’s local cuisine at O Lagar, combining science, culture, and networking. 🤝✨

✨ Two weeks after the 7th WASTES Conference, we revisit the highlights of Day 1 in Madeira.

From the Opening Ceremony with regional and academic leaders, to inspiring Plenary Sessions on health, sustainability and circular bioeconomy, the day set the tone for three days of knowledge exchange.

The Industry Sessions by CVR also stood out, showcasing the Wastes in Motion project and discussing the future of renewable gases in industry.

📺 One week after the 7th WASTES Conference, we are pleased to share that the event was featured on Notícias do Atlântico, Portuguese television.

The report highlighted the importance of connecting academia, industry, government, and society to address today’s most pressing challenges in waste management, circularity, and sustainable solutions. 🌍♻️

With more than 120 oral presentations, 4 plenary sessions, and experts from around the world, WASTES 2025 reinforced the need for new approaches in bioeconomy, circular economy, and blue economy to build a more sustainable future.
