Im August erreichte mich ein Hilferuf von einem holländischen Paar. Sie hatten ursprünglich ihre Hochzeit auf Zakyntos geplant, welche kurzfristig von dem Veranstalter gecancelt wurde und so hieß die Alternative Madeira. Da das Paar allerdings von einer Strandhochzeit träumte und diese im Boho-Style stattfinden sollte, war Schnelligkeit und Ideenreichtum gefordert. Nach mehreren Telefonaten mit der Braut war klar, das wird alles klappen und die Vorfreude stieg. Hier angekommen, hatten wir gleich ein Vorgespräch in dem die Entscheidung schnell fiel, die Location wird die Nachbarinsel Porto Santo sein. Das Paar hatte sein eigenes Filmteam aus Holland dabei. Schnell wurden die Fährtickets gebucht und es ging am frühen Morgen an den 9 km langen Sandstrand. Da das Paar in Brautkleidung war, wurden wir von dem Kapitän auf die Brücke eingeladen und auf die 1. Klasse upgegradet. Angekommen auf Porto Santo sind wir mit einem Jeep quer über die Insel gefahren. Ich glaube die Bilder sprechen für sich. Es war ein toller Tag, das Paar war mega happy und wir kamen abends entspannt um 22 Uhr wieder auf Madeira an.

In August I received a call for help from a Dutch couple. Originally they had planned their wedding on Zakyntos, which was canceled on short notice by the organizer and so the alternative was called Madeira. However, since the couple dreamed of a beach wedding in the boho style, speed and inventiveness were required. After several phone calls with the bride, it was clear that everything would work out and the anticipation increased. Arriving on Madeira, we had a preliminary talk in which the decision was quickly made: The location will be the neighboring island of Porto Santo. The couple had their own film team from Holland with them. So the ferry tickets for all were quickly booked and early in the morning we went to the 9 km long sandy beach. Since the couple was in wedding clothes, we were invited on the ferry to the bridge by the captain and he upgraded us to the 1st class. When we arrived in Porto Santo, we drove across the island in a jeep to several destinations. I think the pictures speak for themselves. It was a great day, the couple was super happy and we arrived back in Madeira at 10 p.m relaxed and satisfied.

Wir haben in den letzten 4 Wochen, trotz Covid 19, viele Paare in den Hafen der Ehe begleiten dürfen. Das liegt mit Sicherheit auch an der Tatsache, dass Madeira und Porto Santo momentan zu den Urlaubsinseln in Europa gehören, auf denen die wenigsten Corona Fälle zu verzeichnen sind. Die Inselregierung hat von Anfang an nach Öffnung des Flughafens darauf geachtet, dass kein Tourist ohne einen negativen Covid Test einreisen darf. Diesen Test, sofern man ihn nicht mitbringt, bietet die Inselregierung auch nach Einreise kostenlos am Flughafen an. Man kümmert sich bestens um die Touristen. Man bekommt dort eine Banane, eine kleine Flasche Wasser sowie eine Madeira-Maske und führt den Test in kürzester Zeit professionell durch. Plant ihr eure Hochzeit, dann plant mit uns auf Madeira bzw. der Nachbarinsel Porto Santo.

In the last 4 weeks, despite Covid 19, we have been able to accompany many couples into the port of marriage. This is certainly also due to the fact that Madeira and Porto Santo are currently among the holiday islands in Europe on which the fewest corona cases are recorded. From the very beginning, after the airport opened, the island government made sure that no tourist was allowed to enter the country without a negative Covid test. If you do not bring it with you, the island government offers this test free of charge at the airport. The tourists are well looked after. There you get a banana, a small bottle of water and a Madeira mask and you can carry out the test professionally in no time. Liebe Freunde,
da die Corona Beschränkungen für Hochzeiten weitestgehend aufgehoben sind, konnten wir gestern wieder ein Paar in den Hafen der Ehe begleiten. Es war wieder einmal ein wunderbares Event an einer außergewöhnlichen Location.
Daneben haben wir in der Corona Zeit die Chance genutzt und unsere Webseite überarbeitet. Es gibt neben dem neu eingerichteten Blog, in dem wir von Zeit zu Zeit in unregelmäßigen Abständen über Hochzeiten und anderes, was auf der Insel passiert, berichten wollen, viele Neues zu entdecken. Wir hoffen, es gefällt euch!

Dear friends,
Since the Corona restrictions for weddings have largely been lifted, we were able to accompany a couple to the port of marriage yesterday. Once again it was a wonderful event at an extraordinary location.
